Not surprising the Hawks lost but still a bad one. They always show these tendencies even in games they win. Even prior to the collapse...the transition D was awful. Wade and Richardson got so many easy baskets by just catching the Hawks sleep in the 1st half.

The last 20 minutes was just typical Hawks basketball. They couldn't rebound, didn't want to push thee ball in transition when they did rebound,Bibby playing crunch time minutes for no apparent reason, and the Hawks having no idea to go against a zone. Smith in particular kept trying to post up for some odd reason instead of cutting to the basket when he didn't have the ball.

Nothing is more frustrating that losing to a team that you should wax.

Agreed. Joe was just missing critical shots and I don't think Josh even realized the Heat were in a zone. No one really stepped up and made plays except Crawford.

I am so frustrated with Mike Woodson. How can he possibly justify his salary? He let us play the Heat 4-on-5 for the entire 4th. Last game, I credited Woodson with learning to keep an eye on Bibby's minutes. Tonight, he plays Bibby the entire 4th.

Did anyone else notice how many times Bibby ended up under the basket? Anyone else notice how many times Beasley was covered by Bibby? Anyone think MIA didn't take FULL advantage of Bibby's presence?

Marvin Williams is sitting on the bench, he's gotten only 6 shot attempts, for which he earned 6 FTs and some here are going to say it's his fault.

We have a better team than Woodson is putting on the court.

Felt we gave that one away in the fourth and it has left a bad taste in my mouth. On overall talent we should dominate the Heat. I agree with the points about zone defense. Woodson needs to use a damn timeout when a zone starts killing us to make sure the team knows what to do against it. He's assumes that they can handle it and we know how that works.

That's assuming Woody knows how to work against the zone. And I'm fairly sure he doesn't.

Mike Woodson is a good assistant coach who understands the value of isolation plays in the NBA. Everything else is a negative: he never helped a player grow, never developed an offense (remember when Bibby came here and Woodson admitted he let him do whatever?), never makes a difference in a game.

We threw away years of growth with all these young players and, now with a team loaded with talent, Woodson still can't make a difference.

This is a top 5 team with poor coaching; think about that.

The Hawks probably couldn't afford a better coach than Woody. I also think the fact that the players haven't mailed it in makes him average.

I think Bibby really exposes Woody's weaknesses and vice versa. You can't play the "switch on every single screen" defense with Bibby out there. Bibby also never gets inside 20 feet of the basket anymore where as someone like Crawford,Flip,or TJ Ford(hypothetically) could easily fit into an offense with so much one on one play involved.

^I know what you mean, Hoops, (and I agree) but the truth was tonight that Bibby ended up under the basket ALOT when he shouldn't have, mostly on defense but even a little on offense. MIA exposed his weaknesses.

I think you mean Bibby's not penetrating and dishing -- and I agree.

The Heat zone defense has contributed to throwing many teams off lately and it catches them by surprise. You guys aren't the only ones to experience this as the Lakers showed the game before that they too had problems with our zone D.

^^^ That might be true. But the Hawks have also consistently broken down offensively against the zone defense. Even the freaking Warriors gave us trouble!

To beat a zone you have to move the ball. Obviously this is not the Hawks forte.
