Johan Petro
Some of us wanted him on this board and now Johan is starting in place of the injured Kenyon Martin. Tonight is his fifth straight start, he has two double-doubles, and is on his way to a third tonight. He becomes a free agent again this offseason.

Re: Johan Petro
Interesting. I admit I wanted him in the off-season and not because he's French. He has the length we could've used and I saw glimpses of potential with the Sonics. He would have been a much better investment than Jason Collins, but perhaps was seen as too much of a project for Woodson. Good to see he's taking advantage of his opportunity. I wonder if he'll still be a bargain this off-season.

Denver's D hasn't been very good during this stretch though. That's not a good sign.

Re: Johan Petro
He was in contact before he chose DEN, certainly thinking he would get more playing time in DEN with less big guys. Actually, he needed an serious injury from Martin to get this playing time, but as soon as he got nearly 24min, he performs.
And it's not for the 24min, it's more than he knows he will get these 24min because of the injury, and being sure of this playing time, he feels more comfortable.
IMO, it's the problem of Petro, he needs too much to be sure that he will play, that is a part of the team, and he's better if starting than coming from the bench. He has more potential than he shows, but as not enough killer instincts to reach it.
Meanwhile, I would have sign him for one season, and would have give slightly more than the minimum to motivate him to come to ATL.
