Anyone else struggling to care?

Post#1 » by ATL DirtyBird » Wed May 5, 2010 5:03 am

Im not gonna ramble on about the flaws and the garbage this team consistently serves its fanbase, but is anyone else on this board struggling to give a eff? I still care very much but these loses dont effect my mood nearly as much as other loses would. Loving and caring about this team is so hard. Anyone else share my feelings or pain?
Is it to much to ask for a team that plays hard and cares? Seems so.

Yes. I agree 100%. Our team has the depth and talent as other contenders, but our mentality and gameplay are still 101. I just have that gut feeling that if we were to get a decent coach, or a voice in the locker room that doesn't have mood swings, it would do a world of good. I love to critisize this team because their flaws are as noticeable as their talents, and it pains me to see this injustice.

My sentiments exactly. I've felt this way since the Milwaukee series. A lot of people want us to be positive but we have to look at the big picture. The Woodson Era has been based on improvements from year-to-year, but what is the point if you can't eventually mold your team into an actual contender? We look no more dangerous now than last season despite actually having the talent to make a move in the EC. I know last night was just one game, but if we get blown out of the water like last year it's time to make some changes.

During the regular season many fans on the GB board (not just Atlanta) felt this team should be mentioned among the big 3 or Boston should be removed, but we're underachieving right now, and it's very disappointing. When Milwaukee tied the series is when I started to worry and already convinced myself that Orlando would do what they please with us.

Before the Orlando series I was trying to be very positive and even said that I can see the series going 7 games. Well, Coach Woodson failed to make adjustments, our team failed to contain Dwight Howard like Charlotte, and this group plays like they have no idea what the basics to the game are.

We play Orlando four times during the regular season and our team has access to all of their games. We might not watch all the Western Conference teams play, but our team should be watching Orlando footage, and yet we never seem to improve when we face them.

I still care, but I too can read the writing on the wall.

I still care- I just never thought that this team had enough talent to beat either Orlando or Cleveland so anything from this point on is just bonus.

Well, did you think it'd take us 7 games to beat a Bogut-less Bucks and that we'd get demolished by 43 points?

43 points.

I bet significant money against the Hawks so I wasn't exactly shocked they lost big.

The Hawks have gotten repetitive. The only 3 comments you'll hear about the Hawks is that they're athletic, don't pass the ball, and have gotten better every year. You also could have skipped the 4th quarter of every playoff game in the last 2 years(minus gm.5 chokejob)and not missed a single thing.

I can say for sure that I don't care anymore after tonight. Even in defeat...the Hawks are incapable of showing some balls.

I actually missed the first quarter tonight. It's just so easy to see what's coming since we saw the exact same type of postseason last year.
