What is the Cap if Joe leaves, 10M or 7M?
Josh, Jamal, Marvin, Bibby, Zaza, Al, Evans, and Teague are still on the books, so that is about 47.6M, so what is the cap for 2011? 57M or 54M?
also what is the max you can offer Wade, Lebron, Amare or Bosh this summer, 16.2M?

Re: What is the Cap if Joe leaves?
It's not announced yet, but it is expected to be 56.1M according to a memo about a month ago. I posted the figure back then. The answer to the cap space is none by Joe leaving alone. Josh Childress still counts against the cap with a large hold and there is also about 1M cap hold on the draft pick. We'd have to renounce Josh Childress to have about 8M in cap space. Since that is only slightly above the MLE I believe the company's plan is to maintain the Childress asset for possible S&T rather than wade into the free agent market.
The amount you can offer a player defends on his years of service and I believe previous contract (although I'm unsure if that applies to his current team only, not feeling like looking it up right now). 16.2M is the starting salary max for Joe as a 9 year vet. Don't know about the other guys but I would assume 16-18M each is likely as the 1st year salary.
