Please give me the answer to this question: Who brought these players into the NBA?
Vladamir Radmonivic (1st round)/Earl Watson/Bobby Simmons
Peter Fehse (2nd round-2002)
Nick Collision (1st)/Ridnour/Wille Green
Robert Swift (1st)
Johan Petro (1st)
Saer Sene (1st)/Denham Brown
These comments to go along with the picks above: (from the Seattle Weekly)
Bob Hill's shortcomings, in my opinion, were his lack of sophisticated offensive sets that emphasized ball movement, getting his team to play consistently vigilant D, and failure to settle upon a mildly effective rotation until too far into the season. The latter is somewhat understandable due to: (a) injuries to Robert Swift, Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis and (b) the parts he was given to work with by the inept Sund, whose affinity for (addiction to?) drafting raw, teenage seven-footers and signing undersized white role players (Ridnour, Collison) to cap-hampering multi-year extensions have turned the Supes' roster into a materially flawed, blow-it-up-or-else proposition.
I've got 2 names to be concerned with on the current roster: Marvin/Bibby
I will say I give him kudos for bringing in Jamal Crawford for what we gave up, but overall, we did worse this year than the previous year.
So please, before, anyone considers blowing this roster up or rebuilding through the draft, please review the most recent history of our GM. Perhaps he has learned from this activity. Current contracts signed under Sund make me think otherwise.
Oh yeah, the draft immediately after RS left Seattle: Kevin Durant.
We won't know much until after the free agent period starts July 1. I expect Sund to allow other teams to offer JJ, much like Smoove's long ordeal 2 years ago.

We went over this when Sund was first hired and for the most part many of us expressed our concerns. I believe the majority here felt better about Sund with the way he handled Josh Smith as a RFA, after he traded for Jamal Crawford, and after he drafted Jeff Teague who many here wanted.
My biggest knock about Mike Bibby's contract is that there is no team option like Portland negotiated with Andre Miller. We can most likely trade Mike Bibby, but I doubt we'll be able to acquire much value for him, so it would more or less be to dump his salary.
Marvin still has a very bright future. Coach Woodon failed to utilize Marvin and it hurt his confidence. Marvin worked very hard on his 3-point shooting (08-09 35.5%, 09-10 30.3%), but as you can see it went to waste this year. I blame Coach Woodson for that and for not playing Jeff Teague more who is the closes thing we have to take over the point during the future.
Joe can simply just sign with a team that has cap space. Joe will use us as leverage depending on how many teams have an interest for him. I hope Joe is willing to work with us and teams are willing to over spend for him, but Sund won't be to blame if Joe signs and leaves us out to dry.
Bryan Colangelo knows Chris Bosh will work with him because he probably receives a full max contract. I believe Houston works a deal for Chris Bosh. With Joe we probably won't have as many opportunities, and I believe Joe prefers the East.

For the most part, I think Sund made his mistakes while trying to get that elusive true NBA center. I can't fault him for that.
I'd love to see what another coach could do with Marvelous. I believe Woodson just put him in the corner and told him to stay out of the way.

My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

I agree. There are several players I want to see in a different system with a different coach including Josh, Marvin, and Jeff.
As far as the draft goes, he didn't have the #2 pick to select Durant, he had lower picks in those years. He reached in the late lottery for bigs. I understand that. I still think Petro (late 1st rounder) has potential. Bigs take time to develop and require coaching and motivation to get there. Drafting them without the proper coaching and motivation is a waste of time. I would like to see better usage of the 2nd round and better drafts in general, but Sund has only had 1 year with picks so far. I'll wait and see what he does rather than worry about it like it is a sure failure.

Sund had a good offseason bringing in Crawford made it so and it showed in the record. If the Hawks are kept somewhat intact (Chill can be packaged for a trade or kept)
Agreed Marvin and Bibby were reaches and even Zaza but JC brought more good than the bad of the other deals as witness by the record.
The Hawks will be better next season. Now is not the time to let Joe go if they want me to buy another season tix at a 2K increase.

Lots of people are wrong on it, and you are

Even if I like the trade because we could not have get better with what was offered, it did not impact anything on the record.
Once again, ATL went from 47W to 53W, but:
- last season, there were lots of injuries -- this season ATL was the less injured team
- a team with a 47W record can easily get a 53W record with one more year together (especially if injured the first season and healthy the second).
I already said it : Crawford brought no more impact than Murray did.
Don't get me wrong, it can mainly be due to Woodson, but it's the reality.
Even with Woodson, I think we would have been better with keeping Murray, and trading for Camby or Brad Miller instead of Crawford. On the other side, Crawford certainly sells more tickets.

Here's the question....Was Murray's 2009 a fluke or was it because of Woodson's system? Flip shot 39 percent from the floor and 31 percent from 3 in 2010.

Re: Before anyone comes here to say let's rebuild this roster...
Good question.
Maybe he could do what he wanted in ATL, and not after. Let's see it : he was here to take the shots when Joe was on the bench, and this what he did, and it put him in rythm for 4th quarter when he could play with Joe and get some big shots.
But it's not because Woodson's system help guys who likes to shot (Murray and Crawford and nearly the same for that) that it's the system that help a team in overall view.
This why I said that ATL would have been on the same level with Murray instead of Crawford, but this also why I don't see Murray as an option anymore with a new coach, but the same team with a new coach should be better, and Crawford, even if near Murray in Woodson's system, should be a better option in a better offensive system because of his other skills.
