Hey! Newish member here, and a Hawks fan!
So, way I see it, the Hawks have a few roster problems to deal with (in addition to some coaching issues). Lackluster PG play and perimeter defense, no true C, and so on. We simply can't advance to the next level if we don't address these issues. So what are our options?
We have some trade assets, namely Crawford ( Expiring 6MOY), Childress, JJ (S&T), one of our 3 starting PFs (Williams, Smith, and Horford) and to some extent Mo Evans.
I guess my point is, what are some ways we can address these problems, using what assets we have, through free agency and trade? Who all is available?
Could we perhaps trade for Collison from NO?
Crawford+Bibby for Collison+Posey+Peterson?
Or Udrih and Thompson from SAC?
Crawford for Udrih+Thompson (Doubt they do this, but Thompson could stretch the floor and let Smoove play the 3 a little)
Or maybe Hill, Jefferson and Splitter from SA?
S&T Joe to SA for Hill, Jefferson, rights to Splitter? (Prolly don't do this either)
I dunno, any ideas? Tony Parker maybe? Send Marvin to Utah for Okur?

Re: How to deal with our PG and C problems...
Our new coach, LD, has already stated that he thinks that Jeff Teague should start developing into the quick PG that we need - both offensively and defensively. I don't see us making a play for a new name PG although swapping out Bibby for an upgrade/less expensive option @ the backup PG isn't out of the ?. Or using another asset for a quick combo G type who could guard the quick PG so that Bibby isn't quite the liability on D that he is now.
As for C, it'll be interesting what happens here. There's a rumor of a SNT deal for Chills to WASH for Javale McGee. There have been rumblings that we'd be willing to spend at least part of MLE on a decent backup C (Haywood, Brad Miller). There's also GSW who've been rumored to be in a salary slashing mode and Biedrins might be able to be had for expirings and not much else. I'm very interested in seeing how Sund works this position.
The other interesting position would be SG. Keeping JJ is the best option as far as talent at the position, but if we allow him to leave we can open up some $$ under the tax threshold for other parts on the roster. If we allow him to go, then we don't really have anyone in place to take his spot (don't believe the hype - we put Crawford in the only position he could succeed last year; he'll be back to his chucker status under LD). Another position that I think will be interesting to watch unfold.
