I've been reading articles about who'll be pursued where and several have noted how impressive Joe's ppg, rbg, apg combo is and that only Lebron, Kobe, and Dwade have better numbers. That right there would make it seem like a no brainer that someone will over Joe the full max. This got me wondering are those numbers real and by that I mean can the people bidding on Joe expect similar numbers in the future? Or are those numbers manufactured by being the center of the Hawks system, primarily ball handler in the offensive half-court and go-to go in all situations?
It's obvious that if he accepts a 3rd fiddle position that his numbers will go down for sure, but even if he's resigned here it is obvious that the load needs spread around more for the good of the team. We know how far we can go on Joe's back (and candidly it isn't that far). If he stays with the Hawks and they change their system how far will Joe's numbers drop off? Will they still be elite? Will they only be good? Or will they become pedestrian? Will they be worth the price tag?
