I don't really see GSW going for the Marvin + 1st for Biedrins trade. All they really save over the life of those 2 deals is somewhere in the $6 mil range (considering Biedrins injury history, that could be nothing) and they're left with a player who's shown less signs of life over their NBA career. I'd think we'd have a better chance if we could swing Crawford for Biedrins, but I couldn't see GSW taking Crawford back. Maybe a 3rd team?evildallas wrote:Post-Joe signing plan trying to remain somewhat realistic in the acquisitions.
Marvin Williams and a 1st rounder to Golden State for Andrins Biedrins
Josh Smith and Mike Bibby to Houston for Shane Battier, Kyle Lowry (S&T), Luis Scola (S&T) and a 1st.
Josh Childress S&T to Washington for Javale McGee (might be a pipe dream)
If that isn't possible then go after Brad Miller with the full MLE
New lineup
Jeff Teague/Kyle Lowry
Joe Johnson/Jamal Crawford/Jordan Crawford
Shane Battier/Mo Evans
Al Horford/Luis Scola
Adrins Biedrins/McGee or Miller/Zaza Pachulia
I also don't see us trading Smith unless we are truly bowled over. Smith really settled in last season and was arguably our best player, and he's still only 24. Yeah, there is a downside to him as well, but honestly, he is the only player on the current roster who could sell tickets by himself. I just can't see the ASG pawning that off unless we get someone else with the same wow factor which I really don't see in the return here.
It's a decent set of off-season moves and I wouldn't mind if they happened, but this doesn't seem to be the direction that our FO seems to be heading in.
