Things better than JJ's new contract

Post#1 » by Space Jam » Wed Jul 7, 2010 7:09 pm

Ok I'm a HUGE Hawks fan but our front office has really disapointed me by giving JJ a 6 year 120 million dollar contract at age 29. Now I am right with you on "The Hawks would suck without Joe next year" comments. But with Joe what are we? A team that get's swept in round 2 of the post season.

Now by giving him this contract we are in a terrible position , IMO. That position is-- Not good enough to make a deep playoff push and not bad enough to get a lotto pick. Now possibly we are looking at having to let Horford and/or Crawford walk because of this massive contract.

Then we haven't even mentioned the teams in the East improving. Miami has got D Wade and Bosh, we could barely beat Miami in the playoffs with only Wade. Knicks have got Stat and possibly anotheir big name. The Bucks have resigned Salmons, signed Gooden, traded for CDR and Maggette, and will have Bogut back, we could baely beat them in the playoffs without Bogut, Gooden, CDR and Maggette. Are we looking at a 5-6 seed? With Orlandon, Celtics, Bucks, Heat, Knicks, and possibly Cavs this may be where we are.

This move is almost as bad as when that one team took Marvin Williams over Deron Williams and Chris Paul...

Oh Wait....

So here is a list of things better than JJ's new contract:
- Getting swept in playoffs by 20 points per
- Trading Wilkins
- Drafting Marvin over Paul/Williams
- Oil Spill
- Getting stuck in a elevator on floor 24
- Watching the Wiggles
- Playing Viva Pinata
- Scratching nails on chalk board
- The new health care bill

**I will still support the Hawks, of course. But I'd rather have not signed this deal
Thoughts? Go Hawks
