Anynoe else notice how Hawks rumors are far off base?

We hear rumors, it starts exciting the fan base, and it turns out to be nothing that actually happens.

Childress went down as a quiet transaction to Phx after all the Cleveland and Washington chatter.

This team is so tight lipped, there really isn't much reason to speculate on. Our current roster is still here now that Joe is back and Childress has conned himself a long-term deal.

I would suggest we gut the roster prior to this summer. But for every transaction that has happened so far, we are sinking deeper into Cleveland like territory. A playoff appearance to keep the owners convinced its worth keeping this core together.

WIth our draft history, it might be the only option. After all, its not my money. What I do have more than likely won't be spent on seeing this core together again under LD.

I almost posted last night that I blame myself for believing that anything smart or good could happen in free agency. Most media called the Josh Childress situation accurately in they said that there was no way the Hawks could match or have any leverage after overspending on Joe Johnson. I chose to hold out hope and I feel like an idiot because of it.
