Sportsfan215:
What is appealing to me is the future Minnesota first round pick.
• Los Angeles Clippers receive Minnesota's first round pick (top-10 protected through 2011, unprotected 2012)
Chris Kaman also appeals to me, but a pack with the future first is more desirable. I highly doubt the Clippers intend to move Chris Kaman, but Josh Smith and Marvin Williams as a combination for Chris Kaman and the future first would be my offer. Atlanta may include a future first to go with the two of them.

Again, Most fan from other team ALWAYS propose trade including Josh Smith because he is a draw, and win an entertaining player to watch. This is the reason that Josh is not on the trade blocks

I would say it would be hard to pry that first away from the Clips, because the FO looks at that pick like a possible top 5 pick in 2012.
So, I totally understand why that pick is desirable, but I don't see the Clippers giving it up, unless they get a great deal.
I just wanted to see how the Hawks would like a Kaman/Horford front court, and if they like that straight up swap, as part of a three-team deal that I was thinking about with the Nets.

My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

Josh Smith is better than Kaman -- and I'm sure you'll agree. The Clippers would have to add value to a Kaman-for-Smith deal.

I do agree, but the difference is much less than a future top 5-10 pick. Also Kaman fits a need for the Hawks, and real centers who are effective are very hard to come by in the NBA.
I would add in a little incentive, maybe take on extra salary (Bibby)?

There's where intelligent people can differ. I'd say 6-10 is about right; after all, Smoove is still a prospect to become a real star (and a star who sells tickets, at that). I'd say 1-5 would be a little too high to add, though.

Re: Josh Smith Available
How does this deal look?
Clippers Get: Bibby/T. Williams/Humphries/2012 GSW first via NJN
Clippers Give: Kaman/Baron/C. Smith (S&T)
The Clippers start the rebuild and total focus around their youth.
Hawks Get: Baron/Kaman/C. Smith (S&T)
Hawks Give: J. Smith/Bibby/Zaza
The Hawks get a scary good lineup that puts them back in the top 3-4 teams in the East. Take a look at this lineup. They would not need to worry about Baron's motivation when they are a playoff and championship contender. Then the Hawks could go out and sign Shaq or Brad Miller to back up Kaman with their MLE.
Baron/Teague
JJ/Crawford/Crawford
M. Williams/JJ/Evans
Horford/C. Smith
Kaman/(Miller or Shaq)
Nets Get: J. Smith/Zaza
Nets Give: T. Williams/Humprhies/2012 First from GSW
The Nets get a very promising young PF to play next to Brook which makes them a much better team instantly. Plus they get some more depth at C, since Petro should really be more of a 3rd stringer.

And you'd rather have Bibby?

No, but Bibby expires next year and is making a lot less.

Yeah, but are the Hawks trying to save money or go for it all. I think Baron gives them a better chance of advancing further in the playoffs than Bibby.

Re: Josh Smith Available
Sorry, I think Baron Davis is toxic: grossly overpaid (and for 3 more years), brittle with a lousy attitude. He also cries (and has been rumored to underperform) when he's forced to play away from the West Coast.
He can't shoot but rather plays an athletic game using his strength and hops, both of which are leaving him as his body falls apart.

Baron Davis is good each year for 5 spectacular games, 10 good games, 20 average games, 30 bad games, and 15 DNPs.
