Deron Williams to ATL?

Post#1 » by FCNATL85 » Fri Sep 3, 2010 2:32 am

Williams- Millsap for Smoothe- JC- Teague and 2011 2nd

In addition ATL adds Flip or Sy as a G (both can play 1-2)

Deron- Bibby
JJ- JC2- Sy or Flip
Marvin- Mo-JJ
Horford- Millsap- Powell
Zaza- Thomas- Collins

ATL gives up a potential all-star and a disgrunted 6th MOY and prospect at PG for an experienced PG and talented PF who could start and push Al back at C when needed.

Deron Williams like Paul has 2 years left and rumbles that he could demand a trade probably wouldn't be met. I think the trade favors us too much as well because of the value of the PG spot, but that is just my opinion.

Boy this would be awesome. Could you picture Deron on the pick and roll with Al and Joe and ZAZA spotting up. No way Jazz do this though. Send Marvin instead of Josh and don't hope for Millsap as that would rectify the wrong of the draft of Marvin instead of Paul!

As for the trade itself, yes it would rock. Actually, I was pulling for Deron Williams in that draft (thought Paul was too small) so it would be awesome to land him half a decade late. And the following year, I was adamant that you don't draft Shelden Williams that high that you could get an equivalent player in the 2nd round. We could have but we passed on Paul Millsap as well. It is conceivable that we could have had Deron Williams, Brandon Roy, and Paul Millsap without even stretching the imagination. Damn you Billy Knight and the ASG.

If it is true....... Deron would have less authority than what Carmelo has now, and couldn't really pick and choose his team. he would be stuck in the same situation that Paul is in, which is having very little power and still stuck with his old team.

Maybe all of this is true but I think it smells of reporter-talk. I think Utah has upgraded by, basically, swapping Boozer for Jefferson. Jefferson is an incredibly powerful lowpost player and can play both the 4 and the 5, letting Okur and, especially, AK47 play their natural positions. Kirilenko is upgraded when he plays the 4 since he is a lot like Smoove there.

or JC- Smoothe and 1st (through 2 picks if needed and get one Utah 2nd) for Deron + Millsap (+ 2nd?)

then try to move Bibby + 2nd (maybe 2 2nd, one from Utah) for equivalent salary... Vujacic? a wash but immediate cap releif to resign Al

Deron - Teague- (Sy)
JJ - JC2- Vujacic
Marvin - Mo- JJ
Horford- Millsap- Powell
Zaza- Thomas- Collins

Thoughts? I will go hard after this guy.

I would do almost anything for this to happen.

Trade Joe too....

no chance you had you chance in the draft and you blew it. I was screaming at Atlanta to pick a point guard but they wanted the best player available even though he was just a good prospect. Came off the bench for North Carolina.

Smoove in Utah....Man I wouldn't do the trade just out of sympathy for him.
Not that SLC is a bad place I just can't see a player known more for flash and his looseness in the locker room playing in a town and for a franchise that's never valued that.
