Hey guys I'm back

Post#1 » by Space Jam » Mon Sep 27, 2010 12:19 am

Just wanted to say I'm back from hibernation just in time for training camp and the 2010-11 season. I look forward to seeing our new offense and see how Teague has improved. I am aware that JCraw wants out and wonder if we could send him to Denver for Nene? I think we are a 4-5 seed this year behind the Heat, Magic, Celtics, and maybe Bulls. Go HAWKS!

We should have an official "i'm back thread." Looking forward to another season, although I can't say I'm too sure what to expect.

Why does Jamal Crawford want out? This is the best team he's ever played for. Some players should know when to just keep their mouth shut.

Edit: should have known it was a contract dispute.

Smith and Woodson also voiced their displeasure with the Hawks prior to their contract years. Athletes view not being offered an extension(if possible) after a "good year" as a sign of disrespect and no team is more frugal than the Hawks when it comes to offering extensions.

Teams are not here to give extension to a guy who made a "personnal good year", but helped the team make a "team good year".

And in this POV, ATL didn't do anything really better than the previous year with only Murray instead of Crawford.

Jamal has to understand that. It's just a normal situation, where he needs to show, like other players already under contract, if he fits the new system Drew will brought, and we can expect an big improvement with him on the team.

Is Horford complaingin like Crawford ? No, while he deserve more, being here for a longer time and in a position ATL can't keep him.

I know it would a better for him to get an extension, but he needs to deserve it.
Go play as hard as you can, and if ATL seems to be (we really will know once in playoffs) better than last year, well you will maybe get an extension.

Sund needs to tell him than they got only 6W less the previous year, with lots of injury, and that with him and no injury, they got swept like the previous year.
It's not hard to understand.
He brought more spectacular plays, but nothing more on the end result.

Horford isn't complaining because he's 24 years old and he plays the most important position well enough to make the ASG despite being out of position.
Crawford is complaining because he's 30 years old and he's probably looking at his last real contract.

I don't understand your response to that quote as I don't think anyone outside of Crawford homers have said that the Hawks should give him an extension-but I also don't view Crawford as selfish given that he won the 6th man award(which qualifies for a "good year")and saw alot of inferior players get long term contracts this summer.

The Horford comparison doesn't hold weight for the reasons that az stated. There's also the added fact that everyone and their mother knows that the Hawks aren't bringing Crawford back after 2011.

It was not really an answer, but just adding POV starting to this quote.
What I wanted to say is that Jamal should stop asking like that, and on the other end, Sund should explain why he can't give him.

At this moment, it looks like Sund is just not explaining why he doesn't want to give him an extension.
I would say that Jamal shoul not need an explanatuion in this situation, and understand it by himself, but maybe he needs to here that from Sund.
