I passionately disagree with your last 2 assertions. A strong PG makes us much more mentally tough and Nash would make us infinitely more mature.
Calderon would stink on defense and he's piddling-good in his own offensive game. However, he'd run our offense intelligently and smoothly. I gnash my teeth when I remember BK had Calderon for Childress and the ASG refused.
The only question is the price. I'd trade Smoove for Nash IF they'd add to the value, since we'd only get Nash for 2 years. If PHO would include Lopez, I'd scream for the deal. Calderon could be had, but we'd have to stay under the LT, so that's a bit tougher. We couldn't take on additional $$$, so we'd have to actually send them someone of value -- and we shouldn't have to do that, considering how far Calderon's fallen. Marvin and Bibby for Calderon/Alabi (plus one of the SFs they've drafted so high) would work but we'd be giving up our defense at SF. We'd have to start Smoove there. Calderon and Smoove (at SF) would require a zone.
Oh well it could solve those issues if we got rid of the problem players but I wasnt taking that into account.
