yes..... but because the biggest part of Peja's value is his expiring contract, the Hawks don't have the assets to work out a trade.

he is not an expiring anymore. he is a free agent. Toronto bought him out today. that would make it ok to trade Marvin Williams for a good back up 5 or maybe even a decent starting Center. Haywood. Dallas needs a SF and we need a center. what about Marvin for Haywood straight up. then a three way trade with Toronto, Suns, and Atlanta. with ZaZA and Moe Evans going to Suns Childress going to Toronto and Calderon coming to Atlanta. Atlanta could send out some draft picks and cash to make the numbers work. Then we could sign Peja to vet min. new line up

Calderon/bibby
JJ/JC1
Smoove/Peja/Wilkens
Horford/Powell
Haywood/Collins

we would finally have more than just one person who can score coming off the bench

^ that wouldn't give the Hawks the cap space to sign Peja, unless he takes the vet minimum

My vote would have been no regardless. Peja has been a shell of his former self for years and even at league minimum wouldn't have provided much punch for us. As for scoring off the bench I think if Marvin returns to health and we start Collins at C then Marvin could be the 2nd scorer off the bench.
Going to donkey punch a leprechaun!
