Please resign Jamal Crawford!

Memo to hawk managment: Are you really going to let this guy walk? Time to trade Marvin for a bag of ball if needed to free up cap space! I think Marvin could use a fresh start somewhere else.

Who wants Marvin?
Is it to much to ask for a team that plays hard and cares? Seems so.

Joe is going to Struggle without jamal and thats just gonna lead to backsteps for the hawks. Only person I compare to Crawford is Ginobli.Jason terry is a straight Shooter he cant break down defense like ginobli and crawford and Terry signed a $49mill/5Yr Deal at age of 30 If hawks cant fork That up to Crawford Other teams will in a Heartbeat.....

Sorry to but in on your board, Bulls fan here. I was roaming the knicks board and i saw an article posting teams that Nash could be dealt to a contender, they included Dallas, Orlando, and Atlanta. Would you deal Crawford (expiring, 1st rounder for Nash straight up?

Nash
Johnson
Williams
Smith
Horford

Pretty good starting 5. I tried to do a deal with other players instead of Crawford, I just couldn't find enough expiring deals.

Actually, it seems that it's these teams who have called PHX for Nash (add POR),
and it at least make me happy to see that ATL have called.

Most of us would do it, but we are not the owners... and they would certainly not even if our team is better, because it would mean Luxury Tax next season (and even this season as Nash cost more than Crawford and we are nearly at the threshold if we count the unlikely bonus of our players).

We don't even know if owners would agree to pay LT if we could get Paul or Anthony, so...

The best thing would be to keep Crawford and re-sign him, and get Nash with other players, but it would also mean LT.
If we can keep Crawford as expiring (and don't keep him), and get Nash for other players like Zaza, Marvin..., it's the only possibility I see that owners would agree to.

Luxury Tax this year must certainly be avoided, but I'm unsure about luxury tax next season. Not being sure what the limits will be or the rules at all it seems too cautious to stress about it if you can stay within range this year.

Also It is possible to make a Nash trade work within the LT threshold (I did several last month), the question is whether Atlanta is willing to give up picks and whether Phoenix covets them. Well that and if Phoenix and Nash want to do a trade at all, which trumps everything.

As much I like Jamal, I think Nash would raise the offensive value of several other players to balance out the woes. Also even at his age he'd be able to get into the lane during those spells when the jumpers aren't falling which is a skill set we seem short on now. Nash would drive box office as well. Even at his advanced age I think he is the perfect acquisition for this team as long as it doesn't cost Al or Josh. That's why I think it is likely that Phoenix keeps him because the perfect thing rarely seems to fall into place for us.
Going to donkey punch a leprechaun!
