^^^^Agreed. The 2009 and 2010 Hawks had their flaws but atleast we had some semblance of continuity and identity. Drew's random rotations(among other things) don't make any sense to me.

Re: Hawks/TrailBlazers
To be fair to Drew (whom I've pilloried quite often for his treatment of Teague), I've also wondered what would happen if we made Horford/Smoove/Joe/Hinrich our new "core." Think about it: we could go big by moving each player down - Horford to PF, Smoove to SF,Joe to SG and HInrich to point, or we could go small by moving each player the opposite direction - Horford to Center, Smoove to PF, etc.
That would require a super fast PG, for when we go small, and a good, strong Center when we go big. Right now, that's the weakness in the idea because we'd have to go with Zaza or Collins. But the idea has merit. We'd have a core that played together and we'd simply sub in a Center or a PG to change all the matchups.
I'm not advocating this idea, just presenting it as a possible thought for Drew. I think he's experimenting with this idea.
Besides, we have to try something to get Joe going or all this is moot.

My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

Can Hinrich really be considered a core member? He's 30 and hasn't had a league average PER in 4 seasons.

Powell didn't play because he was in jail. (To the person that was questioning why he didn't play last night.)

That's why I put the word "core" in quotation marks. He can be a part of our core for this year and next. The idea is to have 2 totally different teams but still use the same 4 starters. We could go big or small with only one change: either put in a Center or Teague.
Just saying that might be what Drew is looking at. We could choose the matchups we wanted to exploit.
It's not better than getting a real Center and playing for the day when Teague starts and Hinrich is our 6th man ... but it might help us 'till then.
