As much as I keep telling myself he's on a terrible team and wouldn't produce like this in a situation other than the one he's currently in, it's pretty hard to stomach this kind of production.

JC2 seems like he would've been a perfect replacement for JC1 after his contract runs out. Shame to lose him in a trade that was a minor (but much needed) upgrade at the point guard position.

even though I wish JC2 was still a Hawk, I still like the trade that brought us Capt'n Kirk.

Don't the two sort of go hand in hand? The fact that they brought someone in off the street in Damien Wilkins and immediately started playing him over Crawford means that they were already convinced he couldn't play. I stand by my theory that the Hawks wouldn't have picked Crawfords option up and they wouldn't have kept their 2011 pick even if they didn't swap Bibby for Hinrich.

A trade like this really symbolizes all the flaws with the Hawks ownership,GM,and coach.

Which is why I have no faith in the organization at all. Scouting and other areas are apparently not a priority.

Crawford has been nice lately on a terrible team who is playing other terrible teams.

His defense is going to hurt whatever team he's on for the rest of his career, and his shot selection is still very meh.

Think his ceiling is just an improved version of Flip Murray

guy is playing like flip as a rookie. Have to say his ceiling is alot higher then that, unless you think he has pretty much peaked.

Apparently, WE know how to defend him.

Come on, you know he wanted to show up.

3 for 9 tonight -- 40% shooting since we traded him -- his man scores big each game --- why oh why did we let this talent get away?
My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

had 8 assist, which is the same amount Hinrich has totaled in the previous 3 games COMBINED. oh, and no one on the hawks scored big tonight.

You guys are thinking he will stay this way for the rest of his career? The only reason Jordan has gotten the green light to shoot is because Nick Young (a more efficient shooter) has been injured and Andray Blatche was injured for much of March. The Wizards had to figure out where the offense was going to come from and Jordan was the one that started to chuck and he did make some big shots.

You have to think that working with Sam Cassell will improve his defense, but the good thing is that Crawford atleast gives effort defensively. He may take a lot of shots (I think Kobe is the only player in the league to have taken more shots in the last 15 games), but he has brought a more competitive attitude to the squad that not even John Wall has brought in his rookie season.

Once he improves his shot selection and defense, he will be a very solid starter in the NBA or be our Jason Terry off the bench.

Hard to single him out for not putting up stats when the Hawks lose by around 30 points to a injury-related Wizards team.

"Stay this way for the rest of his career" is pretty irrelevant. The Hawks bench sucks and it's going to get even worse when Jamal Crawford leaves next year. Eventually they are going to have to develop a draft pick instead of signing guys like Jason Collins,Flip Murray, and Damien Wilkins while hoping for the best. The fact that the Hawks knew both of these things and still A)didn't even bother playing him and b-traded him for a pretty lateral move(imo) tells me they severely underestimated his ability. You don't usually see trades like that unless it's the "he'll probably be out of the league soon and we don't want to pick up his rookie option" like Joe Alexander and Cedric Simmons.

A lateral move indeed, i laughed when the media patted Hawks management on the back for the Bibby trade.
Labeling Joe as the SG of the future has hurt this team over and over in the past 2 years. He led us to the playoffs and Hawks are 2 scared 2 let go, if they had taken a step back and surveyed the landscape...
PPL would have realized hey had enough talent to win without Joe. Now Smith or the 6th man of the year will have to skedaddle because of mismanagement
