So I travel to Atlanta every week for business and have been fortunate(or unfortunate) to catch a lot of Hawks games this year. I grew up in the area so I have a historical understanding of the Hawks even though I am a Bulls fan. I have always wanted this franchise to do well because I feel basketball is neglected in Atlanta and I would love to see it be popular again some day in this city.

In any event, I wanted to voice my displeasure of this coach even moreso than Mike Woodson. Frankly, I hate his style and I felt his blunders really cost the Hawks game two and potentially the season. I have never seen a coach who contradicts his own described style prior to the season. The lack of ball movement last night for a playoff game is frankly unacceptable and kills the potential of what I would consider some pretty talented team first players(Horford, Hinrich). His lack of emotion when players clearly run the offense into the ground seems to send the message to the selfish players that he can be overruled and to the unselfish players that he is pointless as a coach. If he can't command respect from his locker room and can't draw up a decent play to save his life, then what does he actually do?

This team loses games and gets blown out often because they don't have a leader and have a "star player" who has developed a terrible habit of holding the ball for 10 seconds of the shot clock ever possession. Larry Poo has needed to address both of these issues, but it doesn't look like he has even tried. I hate to say it, but once they get out coached and out classed against the Magic, they need to do another coaching search and get someone in who can run a real offense and instill some discipline in this selfish team. As much as college coaching hires fail in the NBA, I think some of the Hawks players are so out of the loop on how to play good basketball that they could really benefit from it.

I will always root for the Hawks unless they play the Bulls, but I just wish management would give us something more to cheer about.

Have you seen the last 2 coaching searches the ASG has conducted? You're probably not going to get a good coach when you're basically looking for someone whose willing to be the lowest paid head coach in the league.

Rick Adelman for coach next year! That would be a dream come true! My favorite coach of all time.
