i almost feel that with joes massive contract, that if crawford is let go, the hawks wont be able to get back to this level anytime soon. His next contract is probably skyrocketing with this strong playoff performacne thoguh.

The further they go the more likely it is.

It is after all about the money.

He may turn down the money from a team like Indy or NJ. Chicago really wouldn't fit him either. I think Jamal likes it here also, so he may just take less money just to stay and be happy.

Crawford could leave money on the table(no one thought Marvin or Horford would sign the deal we offered at the time)but it's a completely different situation given that he's over 30(last long term deal)and probably spends way more money than those 2 due to having kids.

We had our chance to trade him. He has real value and, before 24 Feb., we could have gotten bigger with him as the bait. NOW, we're in the position of either re-signing him or losing him. I would let him go and take a step backward. We have 2 similar PGs who can give us 48 minutes of good defense and penetration on offense. Neither is a 1st-rate playmaker but that's what coaching is for.

We won't let Jamal go, however, because he's Drew's ideal for a PG.

ASG might as well hit the tax for him. His 4 point plays are to crucial for any contender. Can't allow a team like Chicago or NY to get a hold of him. I still say he will leave a lot of money on the table to stay in Atlanta.

Tonight points out the problem with Jamal. All he brings is one-on-one play (forget about defense). That's too specialized of a luxury to overspend on. We've got Hinrich/Teague for the point and Joe for SG. 30 minutes/game for Jamal is just wrong.

We'd simply got to get bigger.

Just out of curiousity, why do you think he's a bad fit in Chicago?
