So, we wanted TWO Al Horfords. What, Drew's jump-shooting offense needed another midrange shooter?

Guess they figured Smith can never be depended on to be our low-post scorer.
My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

Just because Fran Frachilla describes a kid as like Al Horford doesn't mean he's a midrange shooter only. The times I saw Kanter play he was a beast in the low post offensively.

As for Derrick Williams I am really glad it didn't go down if he was the target. While he's a much better shooter than Josh, he'd be a defensive liability at the 3 spot. It would also be a shame to trade Josh for a replacement for Marvin.

Which is why I could never be a GM. This idea of a "traditional" lineup is stupid given that the entire outlook of the league will probably be different by the time any of these players reaches their primes. I mean we are only 3 years removed from the Beasley/Rose debate and both of those teams rosters have gone through dramatic overhauls already & that was BEFORE the new CBA.

Billed at 6'10 and 6'9 Beasley is 6'8 240. he got traded and now plays the 3 in a traditional lineup.

the 3 in a traditional lineup the 3 is the glue of the team. Williams has hope but Beasley is the worst % gunner in the NBA at any position and hurts his team as a starter. Beasley can be reigned in a bit with a heavy decision making point guard
but Beasley plays some of the worst team basketball in the league for a starter. He's 1 dimensional in so many ways. His defense needs to be hidden, not easy with Kevin Love on your team. No surprise Minnesota took a risk on Williams.

yet he gets praise for his 19ppg (on 17 shots and 2 assists).
He plays no defense and will likely be shopped for a 2-way player for some team that wants scoring.

I doubt Sund intended on drafting Derrick Williams. I am pretty content with keeping Josh Smith for the time being unless we receive an offer for proven talent.
