The Paul Rumors Are Over the Top, But

If Paul is traded to the Clippers and the Clips give up De-Andre Jordan, I doubt if they want to have $20 million tied up in one position and claiming they are rebuilding. Okafor would be available. I am no fan of Okafor but the facts say. We would only pay him $7 million more than Marvin and Zaza over the lives of the contracts. The $7 million will come in the last year of his contract but the catch is we will be under the cap that year so it will not hurt much.

Would you send Marvin and Zaza for Okafor if they would do the deal? They would save $7 million but of course they could just amnesty Okafor. The amnesty sucks because you have to go through some type of waiver wire where sorry teams get 1st shot if I'm not mistaken.

I wouldn't, we don't have just 7 million to give away on an aweful contract, if so we'd resign Jamal, but I would do that if they compensate 3 Mil to us so that we'd end up giving up a total of 4 mil, I like Okafor he's a great Blocker and could be the center we need but the money is just too much. But I would definitely take on his contract in a Chris Paul deal.

What do you mean we don't just have $7 million. I would rather pay Okafor $7 million more than Marvin and Zaza. Considering I am speaking of $7 million over the lives of the contracts rather than $7 million a year that is a steal.

Ah I didn't see that part, well in that case I would indeed the deal, but again I would try to get him in a CP3 trade; and would NO really want Marvin or ZaZa? Okafor is a much better player, and maybe NO will unload him in a CP3 trade.

Agree but they would save a little cash. We could offer Hinrich and Zaza and they would save a boatload of cash, but we would be taking on about $22 million more over 3 years by adding Okafor and our payroll would be at about $67 million going into next year with 7 players signed which is a little worse than it currently is. I mean, it would not be a bad deal, but I agree I would rather get him with Paul but I am not interested in giving up anything more than Josh, Jeff, Kirk, Zaza and picks to get Paul and Okafor. Don't even ask about both Josh and Al.

Same here, I did a post earlier about giving Teague Josh and picks for Paul and maybe Okafor/Arize. I want to give away Josh because Al wants to be here and is signed in long term, but giving away Josh and Al along with Jeff picks ect is absurd, Paul is great but the only player I would give that much talent away for is Dwight Howard, and only if D12 is signed in long term. I would also throw in Hinrich in the Paul deal if the hornets demanded him, Hinrich isn't that good that our Paul deals should collapse over him, just like the Knicks deal for Melo almost collapsed because they didn't want to give away Timofey Mosgov at first.
