Jason Kidd

Hawks are probably the only playoff team that can give Kidd a starting spot.

C: Horford
PF: Josh
SF: Joe
SG: Kidd
PG: Teague

Jason Kidd wouldn't start over Jeff Teague. unless we trade Teague, which I would be open to doing.

I really like this move. I'm always looking for more veteran leadership in our locker room. And Kidd brings a championship pedigree, decades of experience and still is one of the best passers in the game.

He could start as SG, but would be useful down the stretch of close games at PG also. (Teague had a tendency to get a little bullheaded during crucial stretches at times. See: games against NYK and BOS).

At worst he gives us the defense and timely shooting that Hinrich provided.

At best, he serves as an unofficial coach on the floor barking at JJ and Josh to not settle for jumpers all the time.

Don't know that we could afford him...

^ Hawks couldn't really offer serious money, but the Hawks could offer what Kidd reportedly really wants, which is a chance to win, a chance to close games, and a chance to start.

i could see Kidd getting 20mpg, and TMac getting 15mpg at SG

Teague getting 30mpg, and Pargo getting 10mpg at PG

and then Marvin could get 20mpg as SF/SG

I don't know, without going into free agency or trade scenarios he could easily start in Dallas, Orlando, NY, MIAMI, Chicago now especially, and Utah amongst the current playoff clubs. If money is the same I don't know if Atlanta offers him a better chance at a ring than those clubs or even a better role considering how past their prime vets are yoyoed around by Drew/Woody (Joe Smith, TMac)

He would make sense in a miniMe backcourt because he constantly did it with Terry, Beaubois, Barea and West with the only difference being that those guys are just weeeeeee bit more confident in their jumpers than Jeffrey. Hope he continues working on it this summer to have it become a real weapon and not just a Josh Childress "I'll shoot it when I absolutely have to and I'm absolutely open" tool.

Dallas - well their is a reason why he is thinking about leaving Dallas if he "could just start"

Orlando - Hawks are better than the Magic and who wants to go through all that Dwight drama

NY - Knicks are not as good as the Hawks, but Kidd might have liked the NY area while he was in NJ

Miami - Kidd is a classy guy, i don't think he would do that.

Chicago - if Bulls trade Deng, then it is obvious that Bulls management is not thinking about winning in 2013.

Yea, Shane Battier was the epitome of class in the NBA and he is almost singlehandedly shooting the Heat to a ring in the Finals. Kidd is nowhere near the class or character of Battier considering his numerous troubles with spousal abuse, divorce, general womanizing (remember him and Jim Jackson fighting over Toni Braxton?) and has been known to wreck a locker room or two. Class would be the last reason he decides against chasing another ring.

Hawks were only better than Orlando recordwise because of the Dwight injury. He's the wildcard but like I said, without getting into trades or free agency. If we want to include the Dwight drama then include the Smoove drama also.

Debatable about the Knicks, Woody loves vets and he loves regular season wins also. Given a full off season together under his reign and they can easily make up that 4 game difference.

Big if on Chicago trading Deng. That's getting into trades and free agency, if you are going to hold other teams to that degree then hold the Hawks who have only 6 guys under contract, no cap and a guy who is expiring and by most accounts wants out.

Silly? And this is why Kidd would never come.
The man is way past his prime.
http://www.dallasnews.com/sports/dallas ... y-2139.ece
That was 2010.

Guys need to stop it. With impending free agency, Hawks need to start Pachulia and develop a center like Ezeli or Fab Melo to carry Horford and Co.
Pay attention. Kidd could come here but you'd be stupid to believe its for a starting job. Or that that starting him would help the Hawks take the next step (as far as playoffs).

Starting really? Get a center and go for Smith and Joe vs Lebron and Wade on the wings and Horford vs Bosh at the big forward.

If it boils down to Wade vs Jason Kidd at the shooting guard. Is that what Hawks fans or Jason Kidd is aiming for?

Crazy

Shane Battier is no where the same level of player Kidd is, you are smoking some dangerous weed if you think Shane "Fing" Battier is even close to a HOFer like Kidd is

and how dumb are you to even think that Orlando is better than Atlanta. it is obvious you have an agenda because you mention that Dwight is injured, but didn't mention that Horford was injured, geez, just some bad spinning of facts on your part

it is not an "IF".... Chicago is actively working on trading Deng.

again, their is an obvious agenda you are pushing, when you are just making up lies and saying their is Josh drama when their are no facts. never once, did Horford, Joe, Marvin, Teague, Stackhouse, or TMac ever say a bad thing about Josh. all the guys get along in the locker room, and you never even see any of the guys yell at each other on the court (what i hear is that Josh, Horford, Childress, Dwight, and Rudy Gay stay in touch and are really close. Joe keeps to himself but nobody has a problem with him)

You are all over the place with your nonsense, per usual.

Did I mention them as players? You were the one that brought up Kidd being "classy" now you are backtracking with your strawman over them as players? Yea, way to reach on that one. At his age Kidd isn't going to fulfill a role greater than what Battier is doing right now for the Heat so wtf does it matter about what he did in the past when it comes time for him to go ring chase?

Horford was injured at the beginning of the season so the Hawks had more than ample time to adjust. You or whichever one of your multiple banned accounts were even riding the "we don't need Horford" train so you are once again backtracking. Dwight finally sat out with 2 weeks left in the regular season after having his back injured for close to a month. Coincidentally the Magic didn't find that enough time to adjust and lost 6 out of their last 10 games to place them precisely 3 games behind the Hawks in the standings. Not spinning anything there, that's just pure common sense. This was also the first time in the entirety of the Atlanta playoff runs that they finished above Orlando in the standings but clearly I have an agenda

So you believe that the Deng rumor is real but the Josh rumors (that's plural, btw) for the past two years are fabricated? Did I mention him being a locker room cancer? Is Dwight that by any chance so how are you leading your way down this precipitously obvious tap dance of a road to pretend that the claim that Josh isn't liked in the locker room was ever made? Why no mention of him keeping in touch with Rondo? Is it because your also heard he wanted the Hawks to stay far away from him like you mentioned in that GB thread

The drama around Smoove is the same around Dwight in that they are both in the final years of their deals and both have standing trade requests out of their current situation. Now tap dance round that and make yourself look like a hypocrite and an even bigger fool.
