Teague is a good defender but Lou Will will be a 6th man, our starting lineup might be
Teague
Jenkins/Morrow
Smith
Horford
Zaza

This is what I'm thinking. That's why I want Brand and Magic Randolph on our bench.

Teague is a good defender, stays in front of his man and with his great leaping ability makes a lot of blocks that Wow! his offenders. And look at his steal stats.

i think you are thinking about Devin Harris. Harris is kinda below average on defense. Teague on the other hand is one of the better young PGs at defense

Jenkins has better combine numbers than Redick, so hopefully he will be alittle bit better defender than JJ Redick.

Brand is on the Mavericks.Korver is a Hawk and I don't know who will set screens for this guy? 225 lb Smith who picks and fades to the 3 or barely picks and slips? Horford who is undersized?
As it stands, Hawks are screwed.

I don't think we have intentions on being really competitive this year anyway. Just experimenting with some things.

That's a joke. Experimenting with how many JJ Reddicks is too many?
Ferry said the team's ownership was supportive of his moves and said, as he did when he was introduced, that he did not seek permission for the drastic step of trading Johnson before accepting the job. He never discussed personnel before taking the job, he said of negotiations that took three months, only how to build an organization.
Ferry certainly is making his mark in that department. Only the long-term will determine if they become a championship-level team. As for the short-term, will the Hawks be a playoff team again next season?

"I believe," Ferry said, "that we'll be competitive."

Here;s a guy I think should have been on the Hawks since he fell to #50. Had never even heard of Mike Scott as a Hawks pick.

Smart move by ATL. If they want Dwight, then they can use Korver's contract to take on a long-term contract from Orlando. Even they can't trade Korver in combination with other players in a single trade for a while they can do multiple trades that serve the same purpose. Make one basic trade for Dwight and then say trade Korver to Orlando for Jason Richardson. Korver only has $500K guaranteed so that's an attractive contract from Orlando's perspective.

I wonder if the Hawks need a SF, why not go for Ronnie Brewer?

Brewer is more versatile and a much better defender, plus the Hawks already have plenty of shooters.

I think he meant that in a way of saying we are still a playoff team. What I meant was to be a contender. The only thing he has done so far is bring in a bunch of shooters and gave us flexibility. He hasn't added a useful center nor a dynamic wing.
