Teague's defense isn't strong enough to offset his weaknesses either, he can't pass, run an offense or score well and can only hit a jumper if he's wide open.

13 and 5 simply aren't impressive numbers from a guy who STARTS if you got a guy giving you 15 and 4 in less minutes and at only 5 mil a year.

Louis is only going to be 26 too so it's not like he's tapped out of potential but If Jeff asks for a dime above that price without showing MAJOR improvement this season.....good bye.

The Atlanta Hawks have shown that they will no longer overpay for mediocrity.

Jeff Teague Eager To Be 'Focal Point' Of Hawks

MaceCase's basketball IQ is just so bad, that it is embarrassing.

Everybody can see, especially Danny Ferry, that Teague is by far a superior player .

offensively, defensively, and Teague is one of the few young PGs that actually has Point Guard skills. like i said in the past, the Hawks would be smart to make Teague into a corner stone of the team, and Ferry agrees with me.

anybody who thinks that Teague is mediocre is just laughably stupid

From the actual article....you know if you actually had both basketball IQ and the ability to read.

Drew wanted the ball in Teague’s hands so the Hawks could play faster (at least until it became Joe’s show late in games).

Instead, Teague usually would stay on his side of the court and wait for the ball to come his way or make a halfhearted effort to convince his teammate to give up the rock. He’s got to demand the ball if it’s going to be his show.

Teague’s 3-point shooting was better until his percentages took a big dive over the final 25 games. It appeared Teague lost confidence in his 3-pointer when he started missing a few but he brushed it off.

Teague got to the basket frequently last season but didn’t finish strongly or draw a high rate of fouls when he got there.

Teague also will have to be sharper defensively on screen-rolls. He went through periods where he seemed to be nonchalant about fighting through screens.

That’s reflected by the 0.8 points per possession posted by opposing pick-and-roll ballhandlers, a number that ranked 117th in the league according to Synergy Sports Technology. Also notice that Teague’s opposing PER is a pedestrian 16.2 in spite of an effective field-goal percentage allowed of just 47.3–those 17.5 field goal attempts and 9.6 assists per 48 minutes stand out. A player with Teague’s physical skills can do better.

I don't want to enter this "upgrade" thing because until I saw them play, I think they can make a great backcourt together, but the shooting part means nothing without looking at the FT numbers.
Williams is shooting at 40 and Teague at 47%, but in 2100 minutes, Teague got 185 FTs while Williams got 295 FTs in only 1600 minutes.

With the same playing time, Williams is fouled twice what Teague is, so he can easily have a lower FG%, and as long as he's a good FT shooter (81% for Williams and 75% for Teague), he gets 1.6pts each time he's fouled and a one more foul on the opponent

Now, Teague should continue to improve the next years, while Williams should stay at his actual level.

Not really.
Terry plays mainly Spot-up shooter and P&N ball handler (21th and 50th in the league) and Williams P&N ball handler and ISO (19th and 29th).
