Re: yahoo hawks team report
Seems a little brown bag, but there are some interesting points. The comments on Korver especially were exciting.
The were definitely some odd items in there though. The 1st bullet being the Willie Green SNT and a paragraph on the Greek dude was an odd pick. I doubt that there are any plans to bring SS Greek C over ever. Also, putting Lou (34% from 3PT) in the same breath as Korver, Morrow, and Jenkins was a head scratcher as well. My guess is that they had to mention him somewhere, but didn't have anywhere to put him. He should have been the 1st bullet point.
Still, I really don't know what to think of our team. On the one hand, we've definitely upgraded our O even with trading off JJ. Being able to ring the perimeter with 40+% 3PT shooters has got to worry opposing D's and open up the middle. On the other hand, I worry about our D. Sure, Smoove will have his impact, our ability to pressure PGs with Teague and now Williams keeps getting better and of course Horford will also help, but replacing Marvin and JJ with a handful of slow footed shooters and an aging defensive specialist (Stevenson) is a big blow on that end. Still, if we can just remain in place after this off-season, then that would have to be considered a huge win for the new FO.
