Moves are coming!!!???

Post#1 » by myrak433 » Sun Dec 2, 2012 1:24 pm

With the Hawks assigning Jenkins and Scott to Bakersfield, does this finally mean that they are going to get some help with rebounding and someone that can defend the SF position. I hope we bring in Dominic McGuire and maybe Troy Murphy or Kyrylo Fesenko........ come Danny boy! make it happen.

Those would be very lateral moves at best...

Damion James. Looked good in training camp and is averaging 16ppg and 8rbs for Bakersfield.

I disagree with you. I feel these are upgrades. would these moves make us a true contender? No. but we would have upgrades at two position that we clearly need. SF and C.
I feel that with these moves we could play Horford at PF full time with Zaza and Fesenko playing C the majority of the time. break down as follows. Zaza 20 min, Fesenko 18 or 20, and Horford 8 or 10 at center. Horford 25 min at PF, Smoove 13, and Ivan 10 min. Smove 22 min at SF, Krover 16 min, and McGuire 10 min at SF. at SG Harris 12, Krover 10 min, and Lou 24 min. at PG Teague 34 min, Harris 8 min, and Lou 6 min.

hard to find minutes for Morrow and Steveson. not sure who minutes to cut.. I now see why Jenkins and Scott are not getting any playing time. can't really cut anyone's minutes unless it is Ivan or Harris.

man will you all forget Damion James. we already have one token D-League player on the team..... Ivan. and I would rather have Ivan than Damion James.

If we are making moves, I would like to see us go after Larry Sanders or Byron Mullens. Even Udoh would be intriguing to have. I've been calling for Sanders for a while now. He's got double double potential and is becoming the shot blocker he was expected to be. Just recently came off a triple double with 10 blocks.

you are talking about trading I am talking about just picking up a few free agents to help win as many games as possible to attract free agents in the summer. so, out of the three you named I would most want Mullens, because he is expiring after this season.but charlotte isn't just going to hand him over to us, and what we send out more than likly would hurt us more than he would help. I mean what could we give to get Mullins Petro and a first round pick maybe. would Charlotte do it? would we? I say no.

I am still holding out hope on Dwight coming in this summer.

P.S. if we were to rebuild, I would want Sanders.

Sanders and Mullens will both likely require assets; not to say that we shouldn't try to get them (we should, I like them too), but they aren't "free" agents.

I like Fesenko a lot, actually. He's had a tiny sample size last season, but he's still got time to grow, and he played well in the minutes he did get.

Mullens and R Williams to ATL
Petro, Scott and 2 2nd to CHA

Jenkins to BKL
Brooks to ATL

Mullens and Brooks for Petro, Scott and Jenkins + 2 2nd. ATL dumps R. Williams

Why would we send Jenkins to bk for brooks. Jenkins has a better game suited for us than brooks imo.

I'll be glad when Dwight signs somewhere, so we can move on from him. Personally, I don't think he's even the best center in the league. The Lakers are losing games because Dwight is missing FT's. Shaq missed them too, but he was a dominant force compared to Dwight.

Anyway, @azuresou, you don't think Sanders at the least isn't worth trading possibly Harris and Morrow to a third team, and facilitating a trade with Milwaukee. They might actually take Morrow straight up. I hate to move Morrow, but Drews dumb behind isn't going to play him, so we might as well pick up something useful. Mullens actually is a free agent, so I really wouldn't throw to many assets away on him unless Harris is the guy. Sanders is actually on a rookie contract, so you could still make moves with his salary on the books.

Mullens is playing well right now and will likely cost more than Petro and a 1st. Charlotte would laugh all over Mullens and Williams for Petro, Scott, and 2 2nds.

Milwaukee probably wouldn't take Harris and Morrow for Sanders, they're already set at guard with Jennings/Monta. I mean I'd do that deal, but I don't think they would.

Yea, if young talented bigmen were so easily acquired.....why is it the Hawks have been looking for a few for over a decade?

I here Greg Oden wants to play this year. If he can give us anything, it sure would be nice to have him around just in case he makes a full recovery. 3 years second year team option third play option.

The Hawks have one of the strangest rosters I've ever seen, but Josh Smith is dominant at SF. Yes dominant if he's placed around the right players at PF-C. If any moves are to be made it should be for centers with a strong deep ball. Mullens from Charlotte would be one guy. That way you can put Horford in the mid-range, Smith on the low block going to work on every SF who tries to guard him, and Mullens deep.
