The "Closing" Gene

Post#1 » by GrimeyKidd » Sat Dec 8, 2012 3:30 pm

Now ive seen this team go out there and Score big time and time again but i dont see them "closing a game" its like every game no matter who we play we lose a big lead and are an inch close on losing the game entirely. I dont know but do we have to learn the closing gene? or go get it.

But in all honesty a win is a win nonetheless, just like the Falcons if you win and your record is good that's all that matters at the end of the day and we're winning; we have players that are clutch and can close out games: Horford, Smith, Teague, and most of all Lou can all hit the big shot in the 4th so as long as we're winning I don't mind close games.

I think a big part of it is that we don't have a go-to player. Someone to hand the ball to and expect them to score or consistently make the right play.

Our two best players can't hit free throws for some reason. (Looking at you Josh & AL.)

Lou can hit free throws, but he believes he can hit every terrible shot he puts up, which prompts him to make unwise decisions with the ball.

All the other top teams have a wing or guard who can hit big shots, knock down free throws, or dribble through pressure at crucial junctions of the game.

Durant in OKC.
Deron in Brooklyn.
'Melo in NYC.
LBJ/Wade in MIA.
Gay in Memphis.
Parker/Manu in SAS.

Those guys are All-Stars and future Hall of Famers.

We have Louis Williams and Josh. Guys not exactly known for their smart decision making.

Well considering that. All we can do is watch us win, and make smart moves in the draft
