Player of the Game

Post#1 » by ATL Boy » Wed Jan 2, 2013 5:03 am

With our win and the Knicks' loss tonight we've moved into another 2nd place tie with the Knicks in the East (Looking at just the losses). We won with only 8 players tonight.

Josh Smith (7)
Al Horford (6)
Zaza Pachulia (2)
Kyle Korver (2)
Devin Harris (1)
Jeff Teague (1)

Notes:
Josh Smith was a beast tonight: 23 points on 11-20 shooting, he also had 13 rebounds, 7 assists, and 4 blocks. It was Josh's dominance in the 3rd quarter that helped rally the troops and put us over the top against a pesky Hornets teams, he was a bully tonight (in a good way);
Where you at Big Z!!! Zaza Pachulia outmatched whoever was in charge of boxing him out tonight. 6 offensive rebounds!!! He had 10 in total keeping up his consistency on the boards. He also went 5-8 for 12 points to complete the double double;
Al Horford was awful on the boards only getting 3 tonight, he did however go 10-17 for 20 points which is nice to see, Smoove and Big Z stole most of the rebounds so I'll give Al a pass tonight;
Kyle Korver made the list by virtue of process of elimination tonight: Jenkins and Tolliver didn't have enough minutes to make a major impact tonight and Lou and Teague had bad shooting nights. Korver did however make his presence felt tonight: He made the Hornets pay for leaving him open tonight and he scorched them with 4 threes, he totaled 15 points tonight.

Smith for his all around game, but Korver and Al hitting big shots in the 2nd half is what won it for us.

i want to give it to Zaza, but Smith was just too dominate in everything. Smoove looked like an All Star among boys.

J-Smoove had one of the most dominating nights of his career.

A well deserved POG!
