Newest rumor from Broussard is Marshon Brooks/KHumph +1st round pick for JSmith/Morrow. I like Brooks but feel we would be pretty overloaded at G position. Hes a good prospect that needs playing time. Humphries usually produces when he plays decent minutes, That 1st round pick would be interesting

Our starting PF for a backup 2 and 4....no.
Humphries not only sucks but eats 12 mil in cap space while sucking. Brooks could be nice, but not for smith.

Josh Smith > Humphries and Marshon
$14 million in cap space > Humphries and Marshon

Can Nets even trade their 1st round pick in consecutive years?

I don't think they can.

Re: Hawks Unwilling To Give Max Contract To Josh Smith
They can just not in a single trade. I believe the rule exists that at the moment the draft of which their traded pick exists is over, they can then move the next consecutive one. This wouldn't be an issue for Brooklyn though as they still own all of their 1st round picks. The Hawks have the right to swap the 14' and the 15' picks, yes but they don't own them outright.

You can't trade consecutive future first round picks.
If you want, you can trade every year your first round pick, which is different.
