Paul is more talented than Teague. No doubt. But it comes down more to production and value.

Which is better:

Paul & Dwight. Or Teague and AL Jefferson, and Korver?

For every dollar you save by not pursuing Paul, you get to use it elsewhere. Also, keep in mind that Teague and CP3 have the exact same postseason success rate at this point.

But this isn't NBA Live.

There is a salary cap. And reality.

Exactly, you need to study math  , because the Hawks can offer two max contracts and have alot of change left over.

You realize those 2 plus Horford can't play 5 position and 48 minutes night after night. You assume we automatically get the best ring chasers to fill out the roster, which we won't.

You do realize, don't you, that we'd have to renounce Josh Smith in order to sign both Howard and Paul? We only have enough for 2 max FAs, including Smith.

Do even know how the salary cap works, or do you even know simple math

Dwight, Chris Paul, Horford, Louis, Jenkins

after that, that still leaves $9 million for Korver and a bunch of bench players

And Korver easily takes 5 of that which means you have 4 million dollars to fill 6 positions, 4 of which will need to play real minutes. We would have no bench, no one in case of injury or foul trouble. Hell, Lou is coming off a acl tear...you can't even count on him yet.

I have to agree with others....you are just turning off "injuries" and "fatigue" and acting like that's real life.

If your back court is going to be Chris Paul/Jenkins then you are GOING to have bugs in foul trouble.

You can have Josh/Teague/Korver for the cost of Chris Paul and Korver. Option A is clearly better.

Championship teams only really have an 8 man rotation, and you are forgetting about the MLE and the Hawks draft picks this summer.

...... BUT, i also don't have any probelms in giving Josh max :D ..... i'm glad everybody is coming around and finally accepting the idea

Assuming we max Paul and Howard, that's probably 36 million at least. Add in Jenkins, Horford and Lou at a combined 20 million for both of them and that puts us at 56 million with injury concerns with Howard and Lou. We look complete in the starting 5, but our bench will need some serious help..

Teague is having a good year, he is not that far off from Chris Paul, and i wouldn't mind over paying Teague this summer...... but people are being kind of glib when they say "Teague's numbers are very close to Chris Paul's numbers"

PER isn't real. It's one of those made up numbers that ESPN numbers geeks use like QBR or WPS.

Paul is more talented than Teague. No doubt. But it comes down more to production and value.

Which is better:

Paul & Zaza. Or Teague and AL Jefferson, and Korver?

It depends how much you value turnovers and think if turnovers are crucial to winning or not.

Chris Paul turns the ball over less, whether you think that helps in winning is up to your own IQ.
