Hawks vs. Nets (2nd half) Gamethread

Post#1 » by ATL Boy » Mon Mar 18, 2013 1:33 am

2nd through 7th is separated by 3 losses and the Hawks and Nets are in the thick of things, tonight is a potential tiebreaker. Teague has struggled and we've hit the floor running, literally, the fast break has been our friend.

Words can't describe how much better we are with Jones on the court.

Its not so much him, its just that we have a guy that can lock onto a perimeter offensive player that we didn't have before. Its replaceable, but a necessary component in a winning team.

Teague struggled early but got his flow back. I really hope Drew ends this "harris is the starter" crap with this game. You don't want to undo all the confidence you have shown in Teague by benching him as soon as possible.

This game isn't over perse, but again, Brooklyns refusal to get the ball to Lopez is why they aren't better than they are. They SHOULD be much better but instead their backcourt wants to control the ball.

If we could get a perimeter defender that could CONSISTANTLY give the offense that Dahntay has shown tonight, we would be DANGEROUS.

Jeff with 10 points 15 assist tonight. Great game despite his horrid shooting.

Remember last week when we lost at home against this team after playing 5 games in 7 days on the back end of a back to back? Remember all the whining about how this team is horrible, how people can't watch and blah blah blah....

This is why you shouldn't overreact to one loss. The Nets haven't played in 5 days and just got blown out at home by us. We now have the 4th spot in the East, 1 game out of 3rd place, 3 games out of 3rd with the Knicks just plummeting.

Big thing tonight, Drew getting away from that "going big" crap. I don't like it unless we are playing Dwight or maybe the Celtics. Otherwise, screw that, use your regular team, let Josh and AL have their mismatches with their quickness....stop Avery Johnsoning it.

Nets are going on a massive road trip too. Hawks handle their business and they could easily solidify HCA in the playoffs.

Quality win on the road against a pretender playoff team. Everybody had a good game, no complaints.

Marrow is better than Dahntay, but because of Marrow's injuries, Dahntay just helps a whole lot because he can give minutes for the Hawks in their playoff run.

Good games all around. Josh had another efficient scoring night. Looks like that game off helped.

Kudos to Teague for putting together a productive game even while his shots weren't falling.

Thanks to injuries to Melo and Rose, we might hold onto the 4th seed for a while.

Its morrow. And offensive yes. Defensively is a hell no.

Great win and 4th quarter for our boys last night. D. Jones was a nice pickup by Ferry as Morrow was pretty much useless on this team since we already have Korver and Jenkins. The one thing this team lacks is consistency. They need to come out strong tonight and handle a lottery-bound Mavs team and extend this winning streak to 4.
