Well, DAL played their starters and we played none of ours. The result was predictable, yet encouraging. We stayed close until the end, though I had the feeling that DAL could have finished us whenever they wanted. Scott and Schröder were especially impressive. I couldn't tell if Scott lined up as a SF or PF (I was working while watching the game) but I think he played SF. He did most of his damage offensively from the perimeter. Schröder looked mature beyond his years. What really surprised me was the stat sheet: I mostly remembered the missed shots (and there were some ugly shots) by those 2 but, when I read the actual numbers, it was much, much better than what I had seen.
Some quick impressions:
we are extremely weak - DAL had a laughably easy time pushing us around;
Brand doesn't appear to have much left;
Jenkins is troubled by his back - his shot was rough.
Cunningham is a fabulous athlete who could use an idea of how to play.
Cartier Martin and Shelvin Mack are desperately trying to not be cut, but playing as if they know it's a matter of time.
The refs kissed our rears until the end. I think they helped us stay close.

My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

The rapport Dennis and M. Scott have built in such a shorty time is encouraging. They'll be consistent contributors by season's end.
Cunningham is a terrific athlete, indeed. Hope our collective team BBall IQ rubs off on him over the year. (He might be the primary backup at SG for the forseeable future.)
Jenkins needs to just deactivate and rest.
MAN, I hope Brand is just pacing himself for the regular season.
NOT only are we weak and undersized, but most of our bigs are already injured....we need a beast down low. A big body to take a beating and pound other teams inside. Here's hoping Ferry pulls off a deal midseason before he causes AL, Brand and Millsap to breakdown completely this season.
