Man this game is great...then I keep remembering Horford having that "something tore" reaction and it kills my vibe.

Since the time when it was 17 FTs for us and 15 for them, it's been 11 for them and one for us.

Not that I'm complaining about the refereeing, however.

Korver got his revenge there

You mean when he and Brand acted like sheep dogs and herded the CLE defense away from Teague's 3?

More of his hard pick.

No wonder Varejao stays injured: he beats the fool out of everyone around him. Nobody can play that rough and not get hurt, eventually.

Antic got the ball right under the basket and took 3 steps out for a fallaway jumper. Arghhhhh.

I think Varejao is just sad he didn't get to wear the sleeved jerseys on christmas.

Teague wins it.

Ball bounced ... once ... then twice .. then thrice ... then rolled over to the other side ... then the ball got tired and dropped in.

Carroll went out with an injured thumb (Zeller).
Horford went out with an injured shoulder (Varejao).
Teague got hit twice in the nose/upper lip but stayed in.

Only 2 of those hits had fouls called. CLE really got home cooking tonight, ESPECIALLY AT THE END AND DURING BOTH OVERTIMES. Okay, when MIA gets the calls, it's because they're better than we are. When CLE gets them, it's because they're at home. When do we get the calls?

2 other least teams played an entertaining game?

Glad they outlasted them.

If Teague was a college football player this game would be his Heisman Moment, he and Kyrie just went back to back like two kids on the playground. Glad we got the win, hopefully Horford's injury is nothing serious. What a game!!!!

And even when we do good the media doesn't give us any love: Teague's buzzer beater was number 6 on top plays. If Lebron did that...

Nice 2xOT victory.

I hope Al's injury isn't serious.

Ditto these sentiments.

Thoughts:

1. Kyrie is a helluva basketball player...but a terrible point guard. He had so many possessions in the 2 overtimes where no one else even touched the ball except him.

2. I really like Dion Waiters. I'd like to see us make a move to acquire him seeing as he has requested a trade and does not get along with Kyrie. (Note: Hawks had actually agreed to a trade of Josh/Marvin to Cleveland for the draft pick used to get Waiters. Hawks backed out at the last minute, but he could have been ours!!!)

3. Good game by Teague. It was clear he took his duel with Kyrie very seriously. And with AL out only he and Millsap could get the ball in the hole in OT.

4. Man I love watching AL Horford play basketball. Who do you guys think (hope) gets the start in his absence?

5. Elton Brand no longer has any lateral movement. I suspect we might be seeing his last season in the NBA.

It was like playground ball a bit. But Teague actually kept it within the confines of the offense.

Kyrie would dribble, dribble dribble, dribble......DRIBBLE, DRIBBLE and shoot.

No passing, not even looking to set up his teammates. No wonder his SG hates him and his team is in last place.

All PGs should have to watch Irving to learn how NOT to involve your teammates.

2.) No idea if CLE is actually looking to deal Waiters or if it's just how the Rumor Mill churns. Still, as far as the deal, I'm guessing we were targeting Beal (we were rumored to really want him at the time), but once it became clear he'd be off the board, that's when we backed off. Even so, I can't think we would have drafted Waiters if we still did the deal. Waiters had a promise (no idea to whom) and it was actually a little bit of a controversy that CLE brought him in at the last minute and then drafted him. I'd guess we would have chosen either Thomas Robinson, Harrison Barnes, or Drummond - with Barnes being the most likely.

4.) I'm going with Ayón as the starter with Brand and Pero getting heavy rotational minutes. Really wish we'd have (a healthy) Bebe or Muscala right now...

5.) Brand has actually been "done" for a few years now, but he keeps hanging around. Something tells me that he can hang around for a few more years as a veteran wide body who plays a heady game. Considering his cost, I wouldn't mind keeping him around for those years. WCS is that we have a veteran of the wars teaching our young C's how to go about their business.

Pretty sure we'd have drafted Drummond.

Agreed.

But at least we got another year of Josh instead. That's way better than a young, promising, franchise player for the next decade. It's not like Drummond and Horford would have made a dominant frontcourt for the next few years or anything.
