Elton Brand. Keep him or trade him?
He's an FA after this season, right? Should he extend his contract or go to another team before the deadline? What do you think guys?

He is on a 1 year, 4 million deal. He is a 1 and done type of player for us. I doubt he would net us anything more than an expiring swap.

He's still a good backup and always a good pro. It's foolish to move him until the kids push him out of the way.
My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

Re: Elton Brand. Keep him or trade him?
In truth, I'd probably give him some say-so in the situation. I am of the belief that great, highly respected veterans, should have some say so in whether they get traded to a contender or simply play out their contracts on a bad team. Especially when unexpected, catastrophic injuries are involved.
He's the only vet on the squad I would extend that courtesy to. It's a sign of respect towards him, and also an indicator to future Free Agents that our locker room is filled with guys who actually want to be here.
