We NEED this allstar break.

Trapped in the snow and ice, listening to the Hawks explain their woes.

I heard Kyle Korver say, "... didn't have legs in our shots..." and I agree. These Hawks are beat. We're losing because we're not playing defense, we're not getting the defensive rebounds and we're not moving fast enough on offense. And, when we do gut it out for a little while, our tired legs won't let us hit our shots.

One additional pair of legs running around would really help. Problem is, they wouldn't know how to run with us, so, ... what to do? Get healthy, I guess.

But a Center would .... (won't say it).

Speaking of Korver, he's gone from being one of the top 5 in Speed and Distance to being 43rd and from 1st in total distance/game to 19th. I would say his legs are a little bit rubbery.

I remember you posting that we looked tired in a Game Thread several games ago and every game I've seen since has made me realize you were right. Kick in the Illegal Screens and Offensive Fouls from last night as proof of being tired as well. Having a few days off would do us well.

That's the real damage done by missing Al. Without his offense, the cost of buying a bucket gets a lot higher, and over time it drains the team. Obviously his defense is missed too, but it's that reliability of having a big man who is so versatile that is so critical.

Al was one of the two absolute worst players we could've lost to injury, (along with Jeff Teague): not only because he's our best player but also because he means so much to us as a big man. I love Millsap but he's not very versatile: he's only 6'7 hindering his ability to play C, and he's not quick enough to play SF. Al could play C and PF and was our team's undisputed leader. We lose our best big man, and then we lose another productive big (who we were starting) in Pero and that's just a recipe for disaster. We were just very unlucky this year, and we really can't do anything about it.
