Knicks want to buy a 2nd rounder according to this article. I found this intriguing. With some extra cash bebe's buyout could be compliments of Phil Jackson and James Dolan but I doubt Ferry does this, he loves assets and rightfully so. Also, we may not even have the opportunity...
If possible, does anyone think its a good idea to sell? I'd be in favor of stashing another pick perhaps nikola jokic (check him out) the roster is getting a little crowded for now.

We better stash that pick before we think about selling it. This ownership is finally getting some credibility back, and I hate to see it go away by being cheap and selling our pick.

Re: Draft, Stash or Sell?
Went with "Stash". A couple of points:
1) At this point, I can't see any other choice than Stash here unless we make a deal on or before draft day. IIRC, we have 8 guys with guaranteed contracts for next season, 3 that we hold options on (Antic, Ayon, Muscala), 2 UFAs, and 2 1st round picks (Nogueira and the one this year). That's a full roster before we even talk about the UFA market which includes 2 guys (Brand and Martin) who we have rights to and actually played pretty well for us last season. However we cut it, we'd expect any 2nd rounder to have to earn his way onto the roster so we have to consider the probability that the player would need to be stashed instead of having an immediate roster slot.
2) There's nothing saying that we'd have to take a EuroStash though. We drafted Muscala out of Bucknell before he went to Spain last year and I could see us being perfectly willing to see a player go to the D-League ala Pierre Jackson with NOP (before he bolted to Turkey after the deadline). Not to say I wouldn't like to land Jokic - I would - but I think they will be at least a handful of guys available who I'd like equally as well. Honestly, the 4 guys going 43-46 in the DX mock - Jokic, CJ Wilcox, Clarkston, Deandre Daniels (somewhat of a local favorite for this board) - would all be excellent selections for the pick.

Great insight! I typically associate stash picks with european players but you're totally right about muscala and different candidates from this year's class.
Nathan I think you hit the nail on the head! cities love owners who show a willingness to spend. It's time Atlanta starts clicking on all cylinders!!

Ferry and Bud have good eyes for talent. You'd be much better off letting them use picks rather than selling them cheaply, especially in this draft.

Re: Draft, Stash or Sell?
Definitely go with stash. Second rounders are the best bang-for-buck assets you can get outside of young superstars, since they're unguaranteed contracts and NBA teams hold all the leverage.
As an example, Chandler Parsons is getting paid under a million next season, and Houston will have had him for 4 years for $3.6M TOTAL. If you can find a quality player or even a starter from the second round, that frees up a lot of salary elsewhere that you can pay big name players with.

Re: Draft, Stash or Sell?
One thing to note here: you can't do a contract like Parsons unless you're under the cap (well... maybe you could use part of the MLE somehow - not sure). Now, we are under the cap now and we actually used the same trick in Parsons contract - the TO between the RFA and UFA year - with Muscala, but there is no guarantee that we would still be under the cap when a stashed candidate would be ready to come over.azuresou1 wrote:Definitely go with stash. I went with Draft. At 43, we can get a nice player that's ready to contribute early, much like Mike Scott a few years ago.

Actually, let me change my stance - it entirely depends on who's available at 43.

This is my answer. I have extreme faith in our staff's ability to develop players so we need to get them as many projects as possible. They will end up developing some of them in to solid players.
