Bosh for $11 million a year!, what am I missing?

Post#1 » by davefmcl » Wed Jul 2, 2014 3:10 am

It looks like Chris Bosh is willing to resign WAY below market value for $11 this season (wish I knew the number for the other 3 seasons). If be has yet to resign, why don't we offer $15 million a season for the next 4? Of the "big 3" he is making the least money, is the 2nd best of the 3, yet has less ability to make up the revenue through endorsements of the 3.

I don't know why he and his agent are willing to do this. I say we make a substatial offer and see what happens.

His agent is saying the reported numbers are not true. Can't really say anything until his contract is actually reported

More than 11 for a PF with paint urticaria, unable to block a shot, confortable with shooting three pointers, soft as a girl and willing to see like any other colleague takes the responsability?
NOOOO.

Ethan J. Skolnick @EthanJSkolnick ยท 12h

Even before Gortat deal, heard Bosh was aiming for 5/90 neighborhood. Could start that deal at 15M w/ max raises.

This is a tweet from the Heat's beat writer. The rumor of Bosh taking 11 million was started by a reporter in Oregon. I would think that the Heat's beat writer would have a much better handle on the situation.

The Heat are screwed if Lebron wants the max and Bosh wants 90 million. Wade is getting atleast 12 million. He opted out of 2/40 so I think he will get like 4/46 or 4/48

You can thank Lebron and Spo for that. Look what happens when Lebron doesn't play.

I would trade Horford for Bosh In a second if we had the opportunity.

I dont think anyone is telling the truth. ANY free agent is going to say MAX MAX MAX .

Even Brian Windhorst on SC last night said "LBJ wants the max, but lets see where they settle at"

ALL of it is posturing. NONE of it is true

This sounds like a bad move to me. If I was the big 3, and I was willing to take less, I would want to put my real numbers out there so free agents know that we are serious about improving the team and winning titles. I would think that free agents will be much more reluctant to sign lesser contracts with the Heat if they are hearing that Lebron wants the max and Bosh wants 90 million. They will have no space to improve the team if they take that much.

Why take less to go to the Heat and be forced to stand in a corner on offense if there is not a high chance of it resulting in a title?

I think the difference between this year and last, is that the HEAT isnt the LOCK to win rings anymore. Youre a VET or a guy looking to get your first big payday (lowry, stephenson), Heat isnt really a lock.

East is getting BETTER, WEST is still BRUTAL. By CBA design you cant go to Miami and get paid because like we have said LBJ and Bosh/WADE eat too much of the cap space.

Vets could go there, but theres other attractive destinations. And VETS arent going to make them get younger, the huge issue is you could argue that Wade and Bosh ARE VETS, they need YOUTH, and the problem with that is any young player wants to get paid because if they dont, they may never see it again.

Something doesn't smell right.
I wouldn't be surprised if under the table money is possibly being exchanged. It has been brought up before during the past amongst teams and players.
I understand Chris Bosh wanting to stay in Miami, because he's comfortable there, and he wants to continue the success he's already had there. On the other hand, leaving so much on the table is difficult for me to fathom.

All that and he'd still put up 20 and 8 on any other team. He's staying with the Heat though I bet.

At this moment, he's not at 11M/year, let's see it.
Then, I can understand being at 11M and with a chance to be in the Finals each year, it's not like he's making 1M.
What I don't understand would be staying with MIA, taking less money, to be treated once again like the one who make them loose if they don't win it, while Wade is more responsible than him IMO.

SAS just proved them that a team with nobody higher than 17ppg can win by 20pts against a team of 2 or 3 guys scoring more than 20 or 25ppg and the rest of the roster having almost no responsibilities.

To curb this a hair, the current rumor is that Bosh's deal is in the $16-18M range.

Assuming all the dot connecting is correct and that Nosh+Wade come in ~$23M, then that leaves Wade's pay at $5-7M.

My guess is that the $12M to spend figure would be for Bosh, Lebron, Wade, and no one else which puts Wade salary in the $10M range. Just a guess.
