ESPN #Forecast

Post#1 » by Hawk Eye » Mon Aug 11, 2014 6:50 pm

ESPN is doing their annually "summer forecast" predictions if the top 8 teams in east & west. Here is their predictions on the east as well as their predictions on wins and losses.

1. Cleveland Cavaliers (56-26)

2. Chicago Bulls (54-28)

3. Toronto Raptors (47-35)

4. Washington Wizards (47-35)

5. Charlotte Hornets (45-37)

6. Miami Heat (44-38)

7. Atlanta Hawks (42-40)

8. Brooklyn Nets (39-43)

Just wanted to get some input here from you guys on what you think about this? I'm actually kind of shocked that they have us at 7 to be honest. I'm also expecting us to have more than 42 wins for sure. Only way I see us at 7 or around 42 wins is if we suffer a boatload of more injuries again.

We're 3-5th if healthy. ESPN just hates Atlanta

I'm still not completely sold on the fact that the pacers will tank. Haven't heard whether Shawn Marion is a definite yes to Cleveland but if he signs with the pacers, no way do they tank and I think they make it to the playoffs with a 6,7, or 8 seed.

Possible but IMO unlikely. I'd predict us more in the 47 win range.

47-48 wins sound about right. But in an improved EAST, that might indeed leave us in the 6th or 7th seed.

I guess you guys think the entire east just stood still. We're lucky Indy lost George because I could honestly see a team like the Pistons turning a corner and become a playoff team this year. Maybe Boston gets some solid production and makes a push as well with Rondo.

Charlotte added Lance Stephenson.
Washingto has they're same core of guys with hopes of improvements from Beal and Wall.
Toronto should at least repeat their performance from last year.
Miami isn't going to fall off the face of the earth either. Lebron was a big loss, but Bosh should see more touches.
If Rose comes back at least 80% of "MVP Rose", then Chicago with the addition of Pau should be a force.
Cleveland of course had the biggest off season of everybody.

We're hoping Al Horford makes us a threat, but we were barely over .500 when he was healthy.

In games where we had all our starters, we had a 61% win rate, which translates to 50 wins. In those games, our average MOV was 4.61 - better than the Rockets and Pacers.
