He can be an asset in terms of being a 3 and d guy who move off the ball well. Toronto doesn't move the ball like that but he should still be an asset. His mentality was golden

There is some debate on the Raptors board about Carroll and his impending return.

Assuming he is healthy and ready to play come playoffs, does he make a team significantly better?

Raptors fans have not seen enough of him at 100% to accurately gauge his value to a team, so as someone suggested in a thread on our board, I am asking you guys for your 2 cents.

Cheers, and good luck with the rest of your season

What's up with the Demarre injury - when will he be back?

He's practicing with the team now, and will be coming back before the end of the year.

Isn't his role to be a 3 and D guy and to be able to match up defensively with forwards like PG and Lebron? Besides defense, the energy and the heart he brings on the court is something the Raps could use. Even with the salary cap rising, 15m is a lot of money, but the Raptors seemed desperate in getting him and so they did what they had to do.

Demarre Carroll is a really good player and if he was still with the Hawks we could have probably gotten 55-60 wins and finished 2nd in the east, but it still would have not changed our playoff outcome. Demarre cannot guard Lebron and Toronto is finding that out now.

I'm glad that the Hawks didn't over pay Demarre like Toronto did, because at the end of the day, Demarre cannot contain Lebron and that is what the Hawks need, a guy who can contain Lebron, rather then a guy who can help gets to 60 wins.

Only the guys in the league can contain Lebron, and that is Kawhi, Paul George, and Iguodala, and maybe a guy like Harrison Barnes if Budz is able to coach him up. Durant can contain Lebron but only from an offensive output stand point.

All in all, its a good thing that Demarre left and the Hawks didn't overpay him like Toronto did because the Hawks need to move on from Demarre and find a guy who can guard Lebron, rather then just staying at the status quo.
