2017 Hawks players rated among top 100 in the league

It's a long list, fellas...

Prior to the 2016-2017 NBA season, the NBA crew over at ESPN ranked Dennis Schröder as the No. 91 overall player in the NBA. After a strong season in which he improved his counting numbers and overall efficiency, the now 23-year-old point guard has... slipped in those same rankings.

On Monday, the worldwide leader unveiled its first segment of #NBARank for 2017-2018 and Schröder was included at No. 96 overall...

Part of this evaluation is likely that ESPN’s RPM metric treats Schröder as a slightly negative player in its projections. Last season, that same metric rated Schröder as the No. 55 point guard in the league thanks to a disastrous defensive evaluation and, even if there is some influence from non-computer calculations, it paints an ugly picture when it comes to the top-100 list.

Dennis Schröder represents Atlanta Hawks on Sports Illustrated’s list of top 100 NBA players

Almost simultaneously, Sports Illustrated ranked Schröder at No. 76 overall and, when it comes to Hawks fans, that is a ranking that surely will land softer. There is still some uncertainty as to what kind of player Schröder is presently and, especially, what kind of player he will be in the future. Still, it is safe to assume that this ranking won’t go over well with his supporters.

So he dropped 5 spots from last years ranking per ESPN, huh?
Ben Simmons jumped 40+ spots from last year without even playing a single game.

So, Hawks are expected to be in a tight battle for last place in the east. NY & Chicago make up the terrible three.
If the Hawks are to live up to (or down to) expectations, naturally no one believes in any of our players.
Dropping from #91 to #96 means that, with a years more experience, he will be worse than last season. Sports writers
quickly point out that all the other Hawk players that amounted to anything last season are now gone and none of the
present roster are any good.
They all expect that, to pull off their tanking season and get one of the top picks in next year's draft, winning 30 or less
games will be their goal.
Many Hawk fans agree. They want us to have success by losing two games every time we win one. That would give us
27 wins for the season. Coming us short 55 times next season.
Here's a great example for next season. Chicago vs Atlanta. Chicago shoots and scores. At the end of the game, the
final score: Chicago 2 - - Atlanta 0.
What an exciting season we have to look forward to, if we believe all the hype !!

Dennis at 96 is utterly stupid. Not surprised considering the fact that it's ESPN though.
