What's the plan here?
To draft a PG who can give us 20/7 and shoot the 3 close to 40%. That'll be sweet in a few years.

To acquire more pieces that fit the same timeline. And to fill the roster with players who fit Travis Schlenk's preferred style of play.
Again, I do like Dennis. But he's a year or two from his entering his prime years, while we seem much further away from true contention.
Another possible trade to keep an eye on. If NYK does decide to move Porzingis, Dennis would likely be the centerpiece of any trade we might offer.
NOTE: The goal isn't to build around Dennis. It's to acquire the best possible players who fit the desired style of play.

Sweet baby Jebus, you're suggesting the Knicks would entertain trading Porzingo for Dennis considering they're like 2 games into the Ntilikina era?
That's enough interwebs for you, Jammmmalllliver.

Dennis at 24 fits the timeline of Prince (23), Bembry(23) and Collins(20).

Plus I thought these young kids would be best served staying in school. Dennis is right at the age for being a senior just getting drafted.

I guess, But I was under the impression we were building around elite young talent that we hope to acquire at the top of the draft.
Doncic, Porter, Bagley will still be in their teens when they enter the league.

macd-gm wrote:Well I agree that if there is a chance at a true centerpiece player in trade then Dennis might have to be a part of that. And that's fine. I would have sent him out for Jimmy Butler last year. I don't know if i'd trade him for a pick though.
Jamaal's larger point is true though and it should be evident by watching Giannis, Kyrie, Lebron etc. We have to get a star one way or another and Dennis isn't going to be that guy. Hopefully he can play with that guy because he's really good and is starting to eliminate some of the hero ball that i was concerned with.
macd-gm wrote:No one saw Jimmy Butler coming but i'd say a lot thought Giannis was a future star. I agree that Prince may end up being a great player. It's driving me crazy to see Baze with the ball so much when it should be in Prince's hands. The outcome has a much greater chance of success. Honestly, having Dennis, Bembry, Prince as the starting lineup may eventually be gold. Dennis and Prince are showing signs of shooting 3 well enough to cover up Bembry's weakness and that lineup would be lock down on the perimeter.
