News of Wright’s disappearance follows the May foreclosure of his custom-built 17-room home by BankTennessee, which repossessed the 12,475-square-foot house in Eads for $1.3 million when Wright and his ex-wife, Sherra, defaulted on their $2.7 million loan, records show. guy, there more to this story.. I can feel it comming. Why if 6 men came to his former wife home was there no thoughts of foul play? Was this detail just not released or did she just remember this after his body was found?.. I think theres more to come.

A sad ending to a sad story.

Lorenzen Wright killing: Shelby County man arrested, charged with murder in death of former NBA player

A Shelby County man has been arrested and charged with murder in the killing of Lorenzen Wright, the basketball standout whose body was found in 2010 and whose slaying has remained a mystery for years, officials announced Tuesday.

"The Lorenzen Wright case has stayed in the public eye for many years," Memphis police Director Michael Rallings said. "We said many times that we had never stopped investigating."

Deborah Marion, Wright's mother, expressed relief over Tuesday's developments, saying authorities confirmed Turner's arrest shortly before a mid-afternoon news conference.

Authorities confirmed last month they had found a gun believed to have been used in Wright's killing in a lake in the Walnut, Mississippi, area. That discovery prompted officials to publicize a $21,000 reward for information established in the case years earlier.

Wright had been living in Atlanta and was visiting the Memphis area when he disappeared in July 2010. He finished his NBA career in 2009 and was killed at age 34.

I can't wait for the details to come out. All the stories from yesterday were really light on details. I imagine the investigation is still ongoing so I get it.

Kinda waiting to see if the ex-wife has some involvement.

I guess you have these tragedies with any franchise but Roundfield, Collier, Wright seems like a lot of sad endings for Hawks big men.

Lorenzen Wright’s ex-wife and his accused killer attended church together

Before his arrest Tuesday morning, Lorenzen Wright's accused killer Billy Ray Turner was a regular member at Mt. Olive No. 1 Baptist Church in Collierville, where he also served as a deacon for the last 10 years.

"He was a man full of faith," said Turner's lifelong pastor, Rev. Oliver Finley.

It's the same church where Finley confirms Wright's ex-wife, Sherra Wright, was once a regular member. She even once led a service in 2015.

Wright spoke to WREG in 2010 to deny rumors she knew more about Wright's death than she was letting on at the time.

"If I knew who did this to Lorenzen, you would know who did this to Lorenzen," she said.

The world is just sad sometimes. Like there aren't enough horrible ways to die by accident or disease? People are going to kill someone because they are mad or jealous or something. Can't you just go away and move on? Sucks.

Well, to be fair, she did move away and moved on .... just needed that insurance money to do it.
