No we don't, but it does seem funny sometimes when opponents say "I come in peace"...lol
Oh well good to come home with a win.

Re: Game Thread: Hawks at Nuggets -- 1/10

Now, doesn't that feel good !! Wins come so seldom to this team, we fans just glow.
In the west, the three lowest teams have 13 wins. In the east, Orlando has 12 wins and Atlanta has 11.
In our tank mode, we are allowed to occasionally do this. After losing four on the road, some of them
last second losses and the others close, Hawks took out their flustrations out on Denver.
We showed what this team is capable of when everything goes right. So hard, riding in our tank,
to lose, over and over. Occasionally, you just have to break out of your shell and win one.

The Hawks played well with consistent effort. IMO they controlled the game almost all the way. Nope, don't think this makes the Hawks playoff readybut it does show that there is some good stuff. It also showed the Nuggets have a long way to go.
May the NBA draft bless you with three great 1st round picks and two surprisingly good 2nd round picks.
Ah man, we had a Nuggs fan here and nobody told me? Dang, I had my best troll material all tee'd up.

Seriously though, the cost of attendance is you have to tell us how we can get M. Beasley from y'all since he's basically going unused (it seems).

Aw, come on, I love Beasley even though our coach doesn't like him. He plays well at both ends, for a young player and he's got a high motor. I'd hate to trade him, but I'll give you a hint: Denver needs a good young SF.

NuggetsWY Just so you know, you are welcome here any time because you're one of the good ones. We know.
Trade deadline coming soon. We may want to get back to you on that offer. Hawks have some very good
veteran players we just might be talked into sending you.

Since we have you here, just how upsetting is it that you guys traded back missing out on rising star Donovan Mitchell and your desired draft target, OG Anunoby?
Is it mitigated by the solid production from Trey Lyles, the emergence of Denver as a legit playoff team or the development of Gary Harris into a top 10 SG?

Yep, Kent is available.
Bleacher Report proposed a trade: Faried and Nuggs 2018 1st for Kent.

I may not be able to read it now, but I'm having both eyes surgically repaired before the end of the month (truth). So I'll be able to read it then.

Clearly not who I was looking at, but I wouldn't mind that trade at all. I think Bazemore has value and you would definitely like Faried. The man's motor never stops and even when he's not happy with PT or whatever, he still gives everything he's got and he doesn't poison a lockerroom. I've got great respect for Faried. The 1st might be a sticking point. Make it 2019 or 2020 or maybe two 2nds. But I think this one could work somehow. I'd certainly not cry even if it included the 1st.

I don't think anyone really expected Mitchell to be what he is this fast. It reminds me of Michael Jordan being skipped by Portland because they had Clyde Drexler. Denver had Harris & Murray & Beasley plus Barton - all of whom could play Mitchell's position. I don't regret missing him (much) but Anunoby was the one many of us wanted. Clearly we needed a SF and instead they trade for a PF and draft a PF - to add to 3 existing PFs plus then they went and signed Millsap. I don't know if Hawks fans can count better than the Nuggets front office but that totals exactly (3 teams worth of PFs).

Yes, Lyles has really softened my criticism of our front office, but "softened" is not "eliminated". Loving Lyles and wish Malone would play him more.
I truly do apologize for not throwing a CP3-2005 reference in this post but I think the Nuggets front office & head coach are rubbing off on me.

In all seriousness though, what the heck is Beasley's future there? Meaning, as much promise as he's shown, turning him into a starting 3 seems a good proposition considering Harris appears to be solidified at the 2 and is young enough to block Beasley.
That's clearly being told from the perspective of a guy who wants Beasley in a volt green jersey so TIFWIW.

Barton is our backup SG & PG & SF. He will also be a FA after this year and wants to go through that process. I strongly suspect he'll get a better offer than the Nuggets will give him. That will leave our guard rotation with Harris & Murray starting and Beasley as the major bench player. The Nuggets can work without a true PG and Beasley has pretty decent handles. (Harris isn't bad, but not "showy good".) Mudiay is the question at guard. He could probably play either guard slot but some of us are wondering if Malone is the wrong coach for him. Our fifth guard would probably be Monte Morris (see G-League). He's a PG that can play SG and does some of both in the G-League. Harris, Murray, Beasley, Mudiay, Morris are all around 6'4" or so. So they are somewhat interchangeable but playing SF against some teams would be a major issue with the length of the NBA these days.
If I were the Hawks, I'd be trying to pry Beasley loose right now. As a Nuggets fan, I'll fight tooth-and-nail to keep him. I'm frustrated with the lack of PT last year and more so this year. But I honestly believe they'll need him next year.

Good luck on the eye surgery. I had both my eyes done last summer. Lots and lots of eye drops involved. Mine turned
out well.

That's how I feel. He smells like the next Tim Hardaway Jr. type of reclamation project. Lots o' tools, not much opportunity to show it with live bullets flying.
