Just wondering, how do the fans there feel about Dwight, AKA D8, now that he's had time with his new team?
Also, how is he getting along with his new coaches and team mates?

Personally, I believe that the Hawks got the best end of the trade. I would do it again. Would you?

Idk if he sucks so bad then why would we care if he was on our tanking team? We haven't used any of the assets or space we got to make any moves yet, so on that front it's too early to say I think. I still wish we had that #31 pick (Jordan Bell) instead of what's his face #41 that has looked good in the GLeague but nothing much so far this year. Still think that whole situation lost us a better draft pick and despite his admitted flaws wasn't truly fair to Dwight and arguably made us look bad imho, and until we make positive use of what we got in the trade I still have to think that the trade is at best undecided and at worst a negative. Not like I looooove Dwight or anything, just trying to be objective. If it hadn't been for that pick swap I'd be happier

Think of the Dwight you know and imagine him on a tanking team particularly when Bud benches him for his no defense on the PnR. He does nothing to help the development of a young team, he'd be calling for the ball everytime down the court and turning it over.
Would the Hawks have taken Jordan Bell at 31? No telling. That's like everyone getting pissed when we sold the 2nd round pick to Cavs and they selected Kay Felder who just got released by the Bulls.
The way I break down the trade is this:
We traded pick #31 for Belinelli who the previous year was traded for pick #21.
We traded Dwight for Plumlee's lower salary and pick #41.
Is that a win? On the court and in the locker room - yes. Dwight's replacement in Dedmon is a better fit, even Plumlee is showing signs of life, no one has to worry about Dwight and his 'touches'. We may still snag a pick in a trade for Beli and Dorsey is playing well in the GL.

^ yea maybe. Dedmon might be gone after this season since he has a PO. I swear I've heard from multiple places that Dwight was actually voted by his teammates as the best mentor or locker room presence or teammate, something along those lines, so I'm not quite as convinced as others that he was some locker room cancer. And I think we still could have gotten a decent asset in trade for dwight this year, so until we actually use Bellinelli (also gone after this year) to get a first rounder or solid pickup, call me a doubter. If we don't get something for Bellinelli im gonna be seriously disappointed with this trade. While Plumlee has a lower salary his contract is longer, so again, I'm not sold there either. Genuinely glad y'all feel skrong about the move because at least it makes me feel a little better about it that other trusted Hawks fans from way back are good with it, but I just personally haven't seen enough to say with certainty it was a good move.

Charlotte now has made Dwight and his big contract available for trade. Interested?
Yep. That's what I thought, too!
Bet they would trade, even, for Miles. Might offer boot! -
I wouldn't do it either..........

Miles and Dwight are both serviceable but Miles at least doesn't complain about not getting enough touches. He knows he's an overpaid big so he just keeps his mouth shut and cashes those large checks.

Charlotte is at least a couple years away from even being able to begin a full scale rebuild because of Dwight, Batum, and Marvin's contracts. And this after never even making it out of the first round with this core. That's a situation I don't envy.
