WHEW! Now, no more worries about that!

Post#1 » by graymule » Tue Jan 23, 2018 1:54 pm

:banghead:

Remember, several seasons ago, our beloved Atlanta Hawks had a season where they won 13 games?
Well, this season's team just posted their 14th win and we haven't even hit the all star break!

Everyone is aware that this team set out to tank the season away. Who knew that it could be this difficult?
For almost three quarters everything was going as planned. Then, quiet suddenly, or so it seemed, nothing
that our opponent could do went right and nothing we did could go wrong. Blowout! We couldn't help it.
All our plays worked. Our shots fell. Flustration befell our opponent and they played worse.

The way the Hawks have played as of late, we have to begin to wonder. Are we really a tank team? Can
we continue to play hard, keep the game close and then lose in the end? We have a new worry. We just
overcome our 13 win season. The brain thrust of the Hawks must decide what we are to do.

Right now, we are too good to be a terrible team, resting on the bottom of the NBA. Do we keep everyone,
continue our recent winning ways and blow any chance of that great, elusive draft pick Dang, we're not
good enough to be great, regardless of how great we looked last night. Iced tea and hot coffee. If either
one is just luke warm, we don't want anything to do with them. Are we destined to be this way as a team?

Kings and Magic are tank masters- they've had years of practice, we are new to it.

The question is: if/when we trade our vets or they're "injured" after the All-star break - how good or bad will we be to end the season.
I think the home stand has a lot to do with playing well in addition to the health of everyone.

Seems like the lineup that busted it open was Delaney/Baze/Prince/Collins/Moose. That's good and bad. We've been playing well lately showcasing vets for trades. But we may not fall off that badly without them. I think we have a lot of hungry guys.

5 games to end January, 4 at home.
After that, there are 31 games to end the season 14 at home, 17 on the road.

This. We this team is a hard working bunch which excutes the offense as well as they can considering their individual talent level

We will lose the necessary games needed to lose in March and April...this homestand is crucial for us to end on a right/wrong lol note.

exactly why I was groaning when they signed Beli, Dedmon and Illya. Now, it's time to move them before we lose more draft slots during this season dedicated to the draft

we still have the second worst record in the NBA. Its a lottery we dont have to be dead last and if we played like the 13 win season, we will not just be bad enough to get a high lottery pick, we will also be a laughingstock again. Which means it will be nearly impossible to court free agents again. I would rather not be there..just saying.

That's the real sucky part. We may not get the top pick even with the worst record.

Well we don't have the worst record currently so our odds improve :D
