Kyle Lowry vs. Dennis Schroder matchup to watch Wednesday night at Philips Arena

The Hawks don’t have a lot going for them, but their point guard is the team’s leading scorer and can be a dangerous opponent. Lowry’s coming off a 40-point game in Minnesota.

NEED TO KNOW

The Raptors have beaten the Hawks twice already this season, including a 112-78 win in Atlanta in November . . . Valanciunas has averaged 14.5 points and 9.5 rebounds against the Hawks this season . . . DeRozan is averaging 5.6 assists per game in January . . . Atlanta is tied with Orlando for dead last in the East and, at 14-32, has the third-worst record in the NBA . . . The Hawks are coming into the game off a win, beating Utah 104-90 at home on Monday night.

Glad I don't have to go watch us play Toronto until next season. They've just given us beatdown after beatdown. Glad we lost for the tank but I wish it could've been closer than down 15-30 all game. At least we got free chick-fil-a.

On my way home, I was listening to 92.9 and Jeff Benedict (who's in the locker room with Mike Conti after every game for the station) was pretty insightful. Said this was the first game of the season where the locker room wasn't jovial, but rather nobody wanted to talk and there were no smiles on anyone face. Coach Bud let it slip that Taurean Prince has been dealing with a finger injury lately that wasn't reported. Speaking of Taurean, he got benched after 13 mins tonight. He's apparently frustrated because he's not a focal point in the offense and because there aren't plays being drawn up for him.

Man, this kid wears his heart on his sleeve. This is the kind of adversity that really determines what kind of man, what kind of player guys will be into his career. Shake it off, TP:

I do think that Taurean is a guy we should be developing as an offensive go to but you also have to earn that. Sulking and playing crappy ain't going to do it.

This is exactly why I would never want to trade him. Not many 80's throwback guys out there...we have been lucky to have DMC and now Prince...finally some real men.

Collins stands alone in the black on both defense and offense.

A good sign for the young fella at this point in a tough season.

I still don't know if i understand TPA or if it's even that useful but by this thing you have to wonder why Delaney plays so much. And Prince, by most measures, is having a really good offensive year but he looks like a horrible player under this metric.
