No one was even willing to toss a future 2nd rounder?

I'm gonna follow your pattern of completely out-of-left-field speculation ....

I'd venture to say the Hawks may have already spoken to him about having a long-term role here. I mean, his name wasn't even floated out there during the silly season before the deadline. Couldn't have been coincidence.

How's that for @jamallllllliver-caliber wild goose huntin'? 8-)

:-?

That's actually a distinct possibility.

Not wild speculation at all.

I hadn't even considered that he might be viewed as a longer term piece.

But it would make sense.

Cut me some slack, I'm not schooled in wild speculation like you are. :P

On a serious note, I've been saying all along that he more so than 'Sova and 'Nelli seemed suited for a mentoring-type role. Especially when we draft Ayton. 8-)

While I might disagree here...it still makes sense.

Hard working, blue collar, strong in faith, earned his role the hard way.

Definitely a dude young players should be looking up to.

:-?

Couldn't get a 2nd rounder? Heck, I wouldn't trade him for a late 1st rounder. Lottery? Maybe. Late? No!
He belongs in the "Keeper" category, in my opinion. He's that good and he's not that old.

If, and that's still a big if, the Hawks draft that elite, super star stud that we desperately want and he's a center,
Dewayne Dedmon can start at center until this new dude learns how to play NBA ball, then back him up.

About the game vs Pistons: Apparently, Detroit doesn't understand the old country boy logic, "Let a sleeping dog lie."
Hawks were content, doing their thing, keeping the game close but willing to go away. The Pistons just had to do
something to stir up the Hawks. Between running off at the mouth and hitting Dennis on the back of the head with
the ball, this old hound dog got up and bit their oppressor. Sometimes, you just gotta do what you've gotta do!

UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN, SOON, AT YOUR HOUSE - - GO ATL HAWKS !!

Note: My mouse died and I was off 24 hours until I got a new one.

Return to Atlanta Hawks
