Game Thread: Hawks in Sac-Town -- 3/22

Keep those hands up and the cell phones down. :(

The Hawks (21-50) say they continue to have their eyes squarely on their own win column, even if their fans seem more concerned with the draft lottery.

Atlanta's 99-94 win at Utah on Tuesday momentarily halted that momentum. By winning, the Hawks moved into a tie with the Orlando Magic for the worst mark in the Eastern Conference, and, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, set off a torrent of unrest on social media from their fan base.

Despite the struggles, Atlanta is the among the league's best in forcing turnovers (15.6 per game), and they caused 16 Utah turnovers. The Kings turn over the ball 13.3 times per game.

This is a must lose game. Dennis needs to get a DNP-CD "rest" tonight after his 41pt performance.

This is surreal. Game delayed due to protests over police shooting in SAC. About 20 people in the stands.

Coach Bud knew how important this loss was so he rested Schroder, kudos coach! Big L, huge.

Did he get injured as well? Saw him take a hard fall then didn’t return to the game.

I actually didn't see much and wasn't aware he got hurt.

Credit where it's due, Mike Bud has greatly improved at the art of speaking but saying nothing:

Both teams understood the game took a back seat to the reason behind the protest.

“I think basketball was secondary tonight," said Atlanta coach Mike Budenholzer. "I think what’s happening in Sacramento and the concerns and thoughts are with everybody. The guys played hard tonight and competed. I think that the crowd that was here appreciated them.”
