No one in this draft was as good in college as Keith Van Horn was back then ....
(ETA: And so no one is confused, I'm asking folks to reconcile that fact with how much we are salivating over these '18 guys.)
Ayton
Bagley
Trae Young
All better collegiate players than KVH.
"Prospect" or "player"? Regardless of how you answer, the point remains. Step off the ledge, folks. "Step off the ledge" means different things depending on who's reading.
Well I wouldn’t say better I guess necessarily because watching KVH, Andre and our boy Hanno Mot at Utah was like watching eight is enough all over again in the 80’s. I kept watching them and it would never end.
But you can’t sleep on what Bagley has done even with the rich tradition of Duke basketball. The guy has simply had a phenomenal year. I always like KVH but even back then I didn’t want to pick him that high despite his game. I felt like he was very slow in and decisive in his first step towards the basket. Don’t get me wrong, he was inside and of course a lot of outside but he wasn’t one of the shiny toys I wanted us to get.
It’ll be interesting to see how the pro careers of KVH and Bagley will compare.
